I recruited to Avon in order to make a little money since i am a student and currently do not have a job but i am looking for one. I did not know my district manager as much even though I went to all the meetings except for one.

Anyway, I started selling as usual and it was going good. I did not make much money but I made it on my own. On the second or third campaign, I bought something that I could pay for myself as soon as I got the money. I had already used it by that time so I could not return it to be sold. After that campaign, it seemed like they just added more money to my account, even when I did not order anything.

When I did get some orders, they wouldn't give me my orders until I pay my overdue amount. I told my mom what happened, she paid my balance for me and I thought I was done paying for it. Finally, I got my stuff and got the money for it. I think I paid some of it, i am not sure.

I just stopped selling Avon without calling them because I did not know what they were going to say. I was just scared to tell them. I started getting notices to pay my balance which was about 100-200 dollars. I do not know why. I haven't sold anything since my last campaign.

It went from Avon to another collection agency. I did not answer to them because nobody wants to hear about a 19 year old who is a student and has no job and possibly no way of paying a balance.

After that Avon called me with a lady who I know had a bad attitude saying if I don't pay my balance of 230.84 now that they would sue me and it would be a felony charge.

The day after that, I got a call from Allied Data Corporation saying I had to pay the balance in full or that I would get sued. Of course, I got on a payment plan that I could pay 100 this month and 130.84 next month anytime.

To this day, I am still struggling with paying 100 dollars because I don't have a job and my mom can't help me. So I called my representative from ADC to see if I could have an extension on my first payment. I don't have time for court issues
and legal fees.

I have enough problems than worrying about a stupid fee for a company who thinks they sell natural products but all products are not natural. I have to wait for a phone call tomorrow to see about the extension. I think that Avon and ADC is a big ripoff! Learn from my mistakes. Texas should up the age limit and let adults at least 21 and over sell because people in that age level have more experience in that stuff!

Several things are clear here ...

AUTHOR: Peter - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 22, 2008

1- It is unwise to spend all your money as soon as you earn it.

2- It is even more unwise to spend more money than you have earned (aka, go into debt).

3- If you have to depend on your mommy to get you out of employment-related debt, then you are not old enough or responsible enough for the job.

Sounds Like You Were Misinformed When You Signed Up....

AUTHOR: Manda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 22, 2008

First off I have read tons of these complaints this evening on here and personally I think people are VERY misinformed when they sign up for Avon. I find it very funny that everyone thinks they are going to make thousands of dollars SELLING Avon. Everyone knows that you aren't going to. You sign a contract when you are recruited to Avon. It is your uplines job to explain to you everything that you need to do.

Oddly your complaint seems to be sadly mostly YOUR fault. Half of your complaint is basically admitting you didn't pay for your items...or you don't remember if you did.....Now tell me why that is Avons fault. If you had questions why didn't you call the customer service number? It's located right on your invoice! Of course they aren't going to send you your order if you still owe them money! And when does Avon claim to sell only natural products? I'm sorry but this is just ludacris reading all of these complaints on here from ex reps that only complain about how much money they didn't make. It's not Avons JOB to make you money! It's YOUR job!!

I'm sorry you are in this situation but it's not Avons fault you didn't pay your bill. And I've never had any problems disputing things on my invoices. People just think it's ok to complain and blame it on Avon. I've been a rep for on and off of 2yrs and each time that I said I wanted to quit they have always of course tried to get me to stay! But even still you should of called and explained the situation. Grrr this whole thing against Avon just irritates me......
