Bank of America is a BIG rip off, or to say, a robber.
On May 6, 2016, I had ZERO balance in my Bank of America checking account (Account Number End with 7375), and ZERO balance in my Bank of America credit card (Account Number End with 6855). I did have few hundred dollars in my saving account.
I thought I had removed all ACH and I would not sign any checks from these accounts anymore.
What I didn't know was, three days later, Bank of America transferred $200 from my credit card to my checking account for so called "overdraft protection service", and after that, every month Bank of America charged me $12 on my checking and $35 on my credit card.
I found out this in late October, 2016, and by the time I found out, Bank of America already charged me total of $72 on my checking and $241 on my credit card, with total of $313, and also my FICO credit score dropped from over 700 to 600.
By without spending a penny, I owe Bank of America $313, and they didn't want to waive my fees. Bank of America is a BIG rip off on consumer and is also a BIG robber.

Overdraft protection used to cover monthly service fees. Doesn't matter what causes the OD in the account, the protection plan will pull the money to cover it. Your card was used instead of your savings account because your card is either the only or the first protection account.
You can continue this fight as long as you like, but it's one that you will lose. You approved the set up of the protection and it worked as it should. It'd be best to pay, close the accounts if not needed and work to get your score back up.

1. Number question: Why all the numbers in my complaint didn't add up? Because I calculated wrong. Besides the fees, there are also interests. Total charges by my credit card during the last six months is $214.12, $72 by checking, so total charge is: $288.12. Why I calculated wrong? Because I was so mad, and I didn't use calculator.
2. Is it my fault? Bank of America will say yes. They have a huge legal team, and they can always do something legally, but also unfair to consumers. I don't know why the so called overdraft protection is from my credit card, when I have money sitting in my saving account. When I sign something with Bank of America, they will give me a BIG stack of papers to sign. The bankers will explain tens-of-thousand-words agreement in a few minutes, and then I will sign it. Who doesn't? Everybody does that. Bank of America probably spent hundreds of thousand dollars attorney fees, and attorneys spent hundreds of hours on the agreement to make sure they are protected. However, do you think I will spend hundreds of thousand dollars attorney fees to help me review Bank of America agreement? No!
3. Bank of America may claim everything that they do is legal. However, from consumer protection stand point. They charge me $288.12. However, I actually didn't spend EVEN ONE PENNY! If I spent any money to buy anything, I won't be so mad. They charge me money on my credit card to pay for my monthly service fee when there is no money in the account. WOW!!!
4. Worst, they refuse to do anything. Bank of America said it was ALL my FAULT! My credit score drop from 700 to 600!!! I will pay for all the fees, and make my balance to ZERO, but I will file complaint to BBB, ripoff, Consumer Affair, and small claim court. I will keep fighting and fighting and fighting until they remove my negative credit record.

Interesting choice of words

You made some interesting choices in the words you did(and did not) use.
First of all you never came out and stated that you CLOSED either your checking or your credit card. Having a $0 balance does not automatically close them. Until they are officially closed, they are still subject to the same terms(and fees) as if there was a balance.
This brings up the other interesting word. You said you "thought" you stopped all ACH transactions. So upon further investigation was this the case, or did you miss one? If you missed one, then unfortunatly this falls squarely on you.
So if you had a monthly fee associated with the Checking Account or an ACH that came through they would, per the terms of the account, pull it from your funding source for overdraft protection.
So what exactly is the rest of the story here?

Questions---

You say you didn't spend a dime. However, you say you "thought" you had removed all ACH transactions. The bank would not implement the overgraft protection transfer without something pending or posting against the checking account. Also you say they transferred @200 and then charged $74 in the checking, this would leave $126. Your math doen't add up either. You claim checking was charged $12 a month to $72 which would be 6 months. And you claim credit card of $35 of month which would be $210, not the $241 you state.
Questions: What transaction came into the account to cause the overdraft protection fee??? The $12 and $35 sound like monthly service fees, are you saying these were not charged until this incident???
