Barclays Bank Delaware, Barclays Bank continued to charge my account after it was closed Wilmington Delaware

I closed my account with Barclay's Bank Delaware (a credit card) on Oct 2007. I was told my account was paid in full and and their was no balance.

In March of 2008 I received a late notice that I owed them $177 (approx). I was shocked and inquired as to why this was. I found that there their was a small charge of $7.59 after I had closed my account. I did verify that I made that charge. However, I did not receive one bill from Barclays untill this charge was in arrears. Quite simply, they let this one charge accrue late fees until it added up to $177! I contacted the BBB and after several months of bickering, these fees were waived.

My problem now is that they have reported me late in payments for the months of January and Feburaury 2008. 30 and 60 days late respectively. This has lowered my credit score by 50+ points and I am outraged that their $7.59 charge is costing me thousands! I am glad the BBB got the fee waived but they failed to make Barclay's remove the late payments on my account. Anyone can clearly see the account was closed 10/07 yet these late payments show dates of 01/08 and 02/08.

My attempts to contact Barclay's have fallen on deaf ears, especially since I have filed with the BBB. Barclay's Bank is the most deceptive company I have ever dealt with. I hope that they get their just reward and go under! Does anyone know if their is a legal way I can get these blemishes removed? Any info would be appreciated.
