I let them charge my credit card for $6 in June for the shipping on a trial product of teeth whitener.
In July, I got another shipment! I also realized that they had charged my credit card for $103! I went back to the website and in teeny-tiny print it said that it would be a monthly shipment. I kept it thinking, okay, my bad. But I sent an email explaining that I wanted it cancelled.
In August, I got another shipment! I didn't even open it. I took a large marker and wrote "REFUSED" and sent it back via my mail person the next day. I was still charged $103 and they never acknowledged getting it back!
In September I recieved no package, so I assumed that they had finally gotten their act together and cancelled it as requested.
When I got my October credit card statement I checked it to see if the refunds had come in yet. To my utter shock, not only were there no refunds/credits, but I had been charged another $103 - even though I never received anything!!
So, at this point, I am out $309 for three products I did not order, two of which I did not even have (one returned and one not received).
I called my card company and filed a complaint on one month's charges (August). I called Bella (again) and they agreed to credit the September charge since I did not get a shipment, but was charged.
When I got my next statement I was pleased to see two refunds of $92.13 (less postage - even though nothing had been mailed out in September!). But then, to my utter shock, I see $92.13 charged back to me!!! What the...???
So, I call my card company. They said when they saw the other credit, they assumed Bella had voluntarily refunded it, so their refund was charged back! I tried to explain to them that there were two months being disputed...
They finally understood, and put in another claim. I have heard nothing since.
I will say that my c.c. company did refund me $10.91 twice for the postage I paid on those two shipments. (I'm not sure how they thought that was going to make me feel better about losing over $300.....)
I did at one point go back to the site and, again, in teeny-tiny print, it had special instructions about HOW to cancel your account. It would have taken an elephant, used to dealing with a 3-ring circus, to jump through those hoops!
I never ever thought I would lose so much money or get tangled up in so much red tape over an order for a little tube of teeth whitening gel! I've been unemployed for almost four years, and this was something I could ill afford.
