I bought my daughter a bedroom set from bobs in upper manhattan in ny. within 6 to 8weeks it started to fall apart first a knob on the chest came right off with the screw still attached to it uprooting through the front. the other knobs never stay tightened. The mirror on the full dresser had screvis sitting in warped holes. it was left supported by the mall. the The bed frame of the full size bed is cracked at the top left side where the frame joins the footboard. The decrative crystal post at the top left end of the footboard came off easily cracking the comer off with it.

As if that werent enough the metal frame at the top of the lamp shade just came apart when my wife tried to straighten it.Upon examination We found that the metal spokes of the shade frame are held by glue. We call bobs and they sent a tech to check the furniture. upon his inspection he calls his office and tells them it was not fixable stating "manufacture defect" for each thing found wrong. and not only that he also said that all of the tracks on the full dresser were bent due to being not properly placed and needed to be fixed. At this point he leaves and we stay talking to customer service on the phone. They wanted to send a repair crew which we refused on the spot. Then they offer to replace the bedroom set which i no longer want. Why on earth would we want the same thing if its made of the same material the same way? And so it stands they will only give us a store credit which rel'nains in place even if i exchange for something of lesser value. meaning that if i agreed to exchange the set and the new one was any amount cheaper im still held prisoner to pay the original full amount. what i owe never decreases it remains as an obligatory "credit"that does not decrease or expire. No matter what i do im screwed.they take my money in full.

We tried to return the set and get a refund but these are grounds on which they refused to do so. Even though the contract is for a year they told us i only had within 30 days to return it all for a refund. (verbatim) the fumtiure was in my possession less than two months. (six weeks to be exact). for them to "legally" have the power to hold us hostage to pay for something that that we return and no longer possess should be called what it is. a crime. this "legal" strong arm tactic can not and would not be upheld by any fair standard. But then again as the saying goes "The law is an a**." Even so.this ability for companies like bobs furniture or any business to be able to get away with this must be taken away from them.
