British Airways refused to do anything at all, or to accept any responsibility at all, when I reported that a $700+ wristwatch became missing from my luggage while in their hands. They didn't even have the common courtesy to have a human being contact me about it. They simply sent me a terse email stating that they accepted no responsibility. My recommendation: use another airline.
