British Airways Baggage ripoff london

I travelled BA this past November from Boston to Nairobi. As part of my preparations I called BA customer service to get some clarification on baggage allowance and charges.

On the BA website under Bag sizes and bulky items (http://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/information/baggage-essentials/checked-baggage-allowances) states that extra baggage was acceptable for a fee and that’s the same information I got from the customer rep.

I was shocked when the actual travelling day came when I was asked to pay more money for the extra weight on the extra boxes.

After hours of talking to very unprofessional supervisors at the airport I was left without any option but to pay $700 dollars (Weight charge) on top of $600 dollars (extra baggage charge).

I wrote several emails to BA a week later and after months of waiting I got one email stating that all charges were legal and non-refundable.

I felt cheated since that’s not what the website says and the customer care rep either didn’t know or failed to tell the truth.
