Chase Bank Recording payments late to ding your account Columbus Ohio

Beware: Chase Bank credit card division is increasing its practices of ripping off customers--the latest is a change in their bill processing and customer service where they are recording payments late and dinging accounts.

It just happened to me, and several other people I spoke with who have all started having the same experience over the past few months.

When I contacted customer service, they put me on hold for 10 minutes (that's a new practice designed to get customers to drop the issue) and then after I explained the issue, blamed the post office, refused to reverse the charges, and offered to me a phone payment option for which they would charge another $15. (No Thanks)

Essentially this is what they are doing to charge you more fees--Credit card statements are mailed from their location later and later--giving you less than 14 days to hit their payment window. Then, they "allow" 10 days for mail and their internal processing...which leaves the credit card customer essentially with 4 days to make a payment. (If you go on vacation, and the statement hits your mail while your gone--you're out of luck) They've reduced the payment timeframe window by 30%-40% hoping I guess to catch people late.

I have been a Chase credit card customer for some time, but no longer. Not only are we as taxpayers bailing out these feeble institutions that put themselves in this mess in the first place, but they are now double dipping. Jamie Dimon (Chase CEO) should be fired.
