Chase Bank ATM and Foreign Exchange Rip off US$ to Argentine Peso - Foreign Exchange and ATM in Argentina Nationwide

Chase Bank is just unable to properly deal with foreign exchange from US Dollar to Argentine Peso. I ordered $600 in Argentine Pesos at my branch and was provided with hundreds of 2 peso bills and a few bigger bills. These 2 peso notes are worth $0.12 each! To pay a taxi bill would take 50 of these bills. I returned most of the 2 peso bills and it cost me $60+ in lost exchange.  Chase blamed their supplier which they identified as Bank of America. Chase failed to take responsibility for their own actions.

Then, adding insult to injury, when I tried to use an ATM in Buenos Aires Argentina, I was limited to 1000 pesos, about $67 dollars, with a $6 fee from the Argentine bank and a $5 fee from Chase. The man next to me was an American with a US Citibank ATM card, he was able to withdraw 5000 pesos (about $335) with the same Argentine bank fee of $6 - he did not know what Citibank would charge him.

The customer service person I called attempted to blame the Argentine bank and ended up being basically rude.

I've banked exclusively with Chase since they acquired Washington Mutual. No more. I will begin migrating my banking to a company that 1) can deal with foreign exchange and 2) takes responsibility for their mistakes.
