I bring a valid complaint and of course the tactic the defense has is that I am trying to persuade readers with sympathy! That's pretty lame and I'll tell you why! Before I posted my experiences, I read all of the similiar complaints about this company from non combat veterans! They are equal opportunity in terms of screwing people over! In fact, if youdon't believe me, do some some research and you will see that my complaint was not based on an attempt to gain sympathy. I based my argument on the fact that I had to have emergency surgery and even with a doctor's note and this company's policy, I should've been able to get my money back. Waiting on the phone for two hours to the customer service personnel who barely speak english and the outsourcing to foreign countries is suspect! Readers, please see this company for what it is! Stay away! Their reputation is so bad, they had to change their website so people wouldn't know who they were anymore. Forget the disabled combat veteran status and look into the actual complaints this company has had against them! They are attacking me because of a valid complaint!

that anyone offered you even a partial refund. In my experience, any changes in itinerary, including cancellation, will always include fees if not outright loss of payment. That's why there's flight insurance. Generally for a small fee you can buy insurance which assures you of reimbursement in the event of a cancellation due to illness or death. If you don't buy the insurance you risk losing your money if you cancel.
When you purchase a ticket, you prevent someone else from taking that seat. Airlines would go broke pretty quickly if people could just purchase tickets and then cancel for any reason, leaving them with empty seats. Anyone can claim "health reasons" and even with insurance in order to file a claim you'll be expected to provide documentation that you really were prevented from using the ticket.
Oh, and the "disabled combat veteran line" is a complete non sequitor, but apparently it's required in pretty much every Ripoffreport post that something like that simply must be included. Someone got sick, someone got cancer, I lost my job, I lost my benefits, a hurricane destroyed my house, a dingo ate my baby, I'm blind, I'm disabled, I'm a combat vet or I know someone who is, etc. etc. etc. It simply doesn't matter and it's a cheap pitch for sympathy. Please stop trying to manipulate the readers and stick to the facts- my guess is that if you look at the original agreement you'll find something about no refunds offered because the ticket is a cut-rate deal. Next time, read the contract before you agree to it. And buy insurance if it's offered.
