CIT - Lease Finance Group Misleadingly had me sign a lease which I could not revoke or remove from my credit report Chicago Illinois

In August of 2000 the company I work for decided to expand and accept credit card payments. I contacted a local vendor who came in and delivered a machine for our company to use. He had me sign for the machine and told me he would be back for me to sign a final contract. I thought I was signing for the equipment but unfortunately it was a 5 year lease with a final buy out. I called several times to check on the contract and was told they had initiated it and it would be debited from my bank account monthly. I was okay with this until 2002 when I purchased my house and they put the financing on my personal credit report. I called and told them the contract was with the business not with me personally. They said, "you signed the contract - you are responsible." I was furious and told them I never signed a contract. They told me to go through the credit reporting agencies and dispute it.

Well the contract just ended in August 2004, I was called in June by a sales representative who informed me the contract was up in August. I checked my credit report in September 2004 and it shows as a zero balance. However, I was still chared a monthly lease payment in September. I called and told them the account was complete and I wanted them to stop withdrawling funds from the company account. I was told I had to send $149.20 to close the contract and purchase the machine. I agreed to pay the balance due after they removed the extra payment they took. They told me that could not be applied to that balance and I needed to pay it in full. I asked if I was going to be refunded my payment and they said, "no, you should have contacted us and told us you wanted to buy out the machine." I did tell the sales representative that in June 2004 but they didn't show that conversation on record. I have charged off the balance owed and asked them to send me a final pay off letter.

This company is deceiving, the customer service representatives are rude, and they are very unwilling to assist in anyway in resolving any issue. Do not do business with them.
