Glad to see i'm not the only one. We should all get together, with a good attorney and expose these bloodsuckers for what they are--vampires.

1997-$1500 loan to go on my honeymoon. STILL paying on this loan $100+/mth. Principal stil around $3K. Not right at all. Like others I've read on the net, forced into refinancing when child support rug has been jerked out from under me. They don't care. All they want is their $.

When I did last refinance, all I wanted to do was just end the harrassment of phone calls to my job. Don't the idiots realize that people can lose their jobs due to this? Oh yea, forgot, they don't care. And yes, I know I should read the fine print, knowing what I'm getting into...but when you're harrassed, worried that your property is going to be taken from you if you don't do something IMMEDIATELY, you'll sign, initial just to get them off your back.

Anyway, past year, I had to send FOUR LETTERS to local branch, with the last one stating that I had the right to sue if they didn't stop. Well, they did, but started in on my cell. Sent THREE LETTERS telling them to stop calling me. That I'm too busy on my job and at home to talk to them, to send me correspondence via mail. I provided my address at the bottom of the letters TWICE. Not to mention that on the envelopes of all these letters, plus the payments i've made in the past, all have return address labels on them with the proper address.

I was ONE payment behind when the calls started coming. I don't answer, but it takes minutes off my plan. They call at least twice a day, EVERYDAY, even though I've sent these letters explaining my situation and how to communicate with me.

I've also told them that I'm trying to find a way to pay them off once and for all, that I need a payoff balance, plus, I wanted to cancel my insurance. One message left by the mgr said that I couldn't do so, that I misunderstood my paperwork, for me to call her. I refuse to call them, for I know all they're going to do is talk me into refinancing again, which i'm trying to avoid doing again.

After wks of waiting and enduring the harrassing phone calls on my cell, I had had enough. The other day, right before I was to take our mail to the post office, I made the call to them. Mgr answered and I bet she wish she hadn't answered the phone.

I raised hell. Told her that I don't have time to talk, just have a few minutes before I had to head to the post office (my job)and just wanted to call and tell them to stop calling my cell, to send the info I've requested TWICE to my address. I told her this, trying to get off the phone FOUR TIMES during this phone call.

She had the nerve to tell me not to talk to her that way. I informed her that I woke up in the u.s.a. this morning and according to the first amendment, I have the right to freedom of speech, and I will talk anyway to anyone i ***** **** well please in anyway I ******choose, and if she doesn't like it, then they shouldn't insist and demand that I call them and do like I requested and correspond with me via mail.

Then she got rude saying that she sent two letters to me telling me that she cancelled the insurance 4/11 and another letter that took her 30 minutes to type (mgr can't type a letter faster than that shouldn't have that position)and she didn't save it, but she'd retype it and send it to me AGAIN but needed my address.

I exploded: "ya'll not looking at what's sent to ya'll?! it clearly states my address on my letters to ya'll. Ya'll can't read???" she asks what address, I start, she finishes it, except it turns out that she has on all my paperwork, and had sent my letters, along with statements that I haven't rec'd in mths,w ith the wrong city and state. I moved to charlotte, nc from rock hill, sc in 7/04, refinance was done in 10/04. Duh! They f***'d up. There is no woodlawn rd in rock hill, sc. The statements, letters, would've been returned to them undeliverable. THEN,she's all apologetic, going to send me the letters again, but might be too late to stop legal action against me.

But that's not the end of it. Like I said, I just had a few minutes to make this call before having to leave to do my job. She starts in on "the good guy speech" that I've been reading about on the net that citi does.

She tells me, that according to my paperwork, that I make VERY good money and she doesn't understand why I can't make $102/mth payment. I tell her that since my support hasn't come in for 2mths, I can barely buy groceries for me and my kid and have gas $ to get to my job, to earn a check, to pay my ****** bills. That I only get paid once a mth, and I'm scraping by the end of the mth to just get by.

Now,check this out. Just shows that this organization is clearly not organized. She said that she couldn't understand that due to the fact that I make $4400.00/mth. I told her that if I made that kinda $, I wouldn't be behind in anything. I don't even GROSS HALF of that figure. Don't know where she got that figure from. But i have an idea.

Got to thinking that everytime I've had to refinance, they need collateral. Last time,employee kept hounding me to find things around my home to use for collateral. Even "generated" things, inflating the cost of the items to make it to where I can qualify for the refinance. One is my computer, which I still owe dell for--read my paperwork this evening--can't do that. She never asked if it was genuinely mine or not.

So i'm thinking that this employee pulled out of her a** the figures to get this refinance qualified to meet her quota. I was told that this deal would lower my payments and my interest rate--WRONG!. Payments didn't go down, interest went from 18.99% to 24.99%. But get this.

Wish I had looked over the paperwork earlier--BE FOREWARNED TO DO SO WITH THESE VAMPIRES!!! Aall looks japanese to me. Think they do that intentionally to sneak things into the loan. Saw where the box is checked saying that this is an unsecured loan. So far, and i'm still researching, I don't see a list of items used as collateral. So, I can throw my hands up, let this go instead of wasting anymore $ and time on this. My credit sucks due to men in my past screwing me--and not in the good way. So,why bother paying them anymore. They've gotten almost, according to my calcualtions, $8K for a $1500 loan. To me, they've gotten their $ back several times over. I don't owe them s**t!

Finally got a letter today. No payoff balance or any info about the insurance that's SUPPOSEDLY cancelled. Only states that I have until 5/16 to pay them $330.00 or legal action will be taken.

Have sent complaints to FTC and BBB and a local lawyer's office in the hopes of--in the very least--show this bloodsucking corporation that I'm not going to be their victim any longer. Can't squeeze blood from a turnip....

If there is any attorney out there who wants to win big--they need to research, get all of us together, and take these vampires down. They're ruining lives as well as our national economy while they get bloated like ticks. Anyone want to join in this crusade? Citifinancial DOES NOT act according to federal, state, or their own company policy. I urge those of you who have experienced similar collection tactics to keep accurate records of every correspondence received and sent to the company. I put in my resignation due to the pressure they imposed upon me to use collection techniques that violated the FDCPA (fair debt collection practices act). You may only receive one message per phone line a day. If the employee leaves more than one message (and trust me, there is a plethora of inept employees and branch managers who do so) within the same 24hr period, by all means SAVE THEM! Each time they violate this act they will be fined.

If you received ANY discplinary action because of calls to your work after you have given them verbal and written instruction to stop, you may receive monetary compensation. If they leave a message stating any more than their name, phone number, and company...SAVE IT. Again, this is violation of the FDCPA. It is more expensive but when you send them cease and desist letters, send it via certified mail and by all means SAVE the receipt.
I have heard so many complaints and have witnessed such abusive collection techniques I'm appalled they haven't already been sued. Your best weapon as a consumer is KNOWLEDGE. Familiarize yourself with basics. FDCPA is just one of many. When I was finally losing sleep, I called the CITI's ethicshotline. Needless to say, what a joke. Not only did my supervisor (who incidentally ordered her subordinates, including myself to violate the law) get away with such blatant violations-she documented them herself in account notes-but she was ultimately made aware that I reported her. Nothing will happen unless consumers exercise due diligence in maintaining records. If you want to take down Goliath, come prepared! If anyone has any questions feel free to e-mail me. weve been there to we had an account with washington mutual which we paid off they panever releasd the deed to our land then later took out a loan with citi financial

we never put up our land as collateral but washington mutual sold out to citi and gave them the deed to our land my husband got sick couldnt work we couldnt

pay now there holding our deed that they shouldnt have anybody know what we can do

As part of CITIGROUP, trust me when I tell you that we do EVERYTHING by the rule of the law. Just like any other business, every branch is ran by the Manager at that location.

When it comes to your money; if you can't pay it, yes we will see if we can pay off some of your other bills to see if we can HELP lower your FULL monthly debt payments. You have to understand that we are a finance company. That means, that Citifinancial makes money off the interest rate that they charge you. How else would we pay our bills?

We have a Cap on the interest rate we can charge. If you are not happy with the interest rate that we charge, go see what Beneficial or American General Financial Services can give you. That is the best thing of competition. If you do not like what one company has to offer, you can go to the other one.

The reason we as for personal property information is for you to get the feeling of personal ownership of the loan. No, we will not go pick up your computer or any other property.

It is our JOB to try to collect on your account. Remember, you came to us for help; not the other way around. You were not b#tching and complaining when you were out spending your money.

It sounds to me that you overextended yourself and bit more then you can chew. And since you do not want to look in the mirror, you are looking for someone to blame. Trust me; the only thing that will happen to you is 1) Your credit will be damaged 2) Your account will be charged off and your debt will be SOLD to another company 3) Depending on your state laws, your wages may be garnished and a judgment me be put on public record.

If you can live with that, then just tell them to send you to collections.

And when it comes to have a Law Suit: Get in line, they have insurance for lawsuits, so trust me, Citigroup cares but it will be another cost of doing business.

Thats it! Just remember, THINK BEFORE YOU SIGN. Balance ALL your bills and see what happens if you lose your job or something happens. NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR FINANCES MORE THEN YOU DO!!! EVEN THE SALES PERSON ACROSS FROM YOU TELLING YOU THAT THERE YOUR BEST FRIEND.

I HAVE BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT IN FACT I HAVE SO MUCH INFORMATION ON THESE CROOKS THAT I COULD WRITE A DAMM BOOK.

HERE IS A LITTLE OF MY STORY,,,, AND I DO MEAN A LITTLE: I FINANCED $54000.00 IN 1998 WAS LATE A FEW TIMES BUT ALWAYS CAUGHT UP BUT IN 2000 I WAS SCARED INTO REFINANCING THIS LOAN BY THEM TELLING ME THAT I WAS $2000.00 PLUS BEHIND AND THAT I HAD THESE CHOICES, EITHER PAY UP WHAT I WAS BEHIND, LOSE MY PROPERTY OR REFINANCE,

WELL I REFINANCED AND FROM THERE I PAID EVERY MONTH BUT MY PRINCIPAL WAS NEVER COMING DOWN I EVEN WOULD PAY SOME TIME BEFORE IT WAS EVEN DUE AND IT WAS ALL GOING TO INTEREST I WAS GETTING NO WERE AT ALL

SO IN 2004 I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO PAY THESE CROOKS OFF AND GUESS WHAT WHEN I PAID THEM OFF I ENDED UP PAYING $360.00 MORE THAN WHAT THE ORIG. LOAN WAS AND THIS WAS AFTER PAYING THEM $501.59 A MONTH FOR ABOUT 75 MONTHS THAT = $37619.25 PLUS THE ORIG LOAN AMOUNT,,,

COME ON GUYS,,,, SOMETHING WRONG HERE AND PLUS THEY ARE GETTING AWAY WITH SELLING OUR INFORMATION TO ???? WHO EVER COME ON LET'S GET REAL FOKES UPS DID NOT LOSE THAT PACKAGE THEY NEVER PICKED IT UP THOSE CROOKS AT CITI GROUP KNOWS WHAT HAPPEN TO THAT PACKAGE.

SO IF YOU ALL GET AN ATTORNEY THAT WILL FIGHT FOR US THEN PLEASE COUNT ME IN TOO..... I WILL BE GLAD TO SIT DOWN WITH ALL MY BOXES OF INFORMATION ON THESE CROOKS ANY TIME.
