 I paid off my account in full a little before my next scheduled payment was due.  I couldn't stop the check from processing through my banks bill pay service so I contacted the local branch.  When I spoke with the local branch through which we obtained the loan the branch manager said the check would most likely be returned without being cashed because the account was closed. 

That wasn't the case. After a little over a week, with no refund check, I contacted the branch again.  Not only was the check cashed, but it wasn't applied to my account to be processed for refund.  When I inquired about why it didn't show as credited to my account, a very rude woman said 'You'll get it eventually'.  I explained to the woman that previously several of my payments had been applied to the incorrect accounts and it was only when they called me thinking my payment was late that it was discovered that they had misapplied the funds.  She told me that the payment center receives thousands of payments and when they get around to reconcilling they'll see that a refund is due me. 

On top of being dismissive, unprofessional and rude, she obviously had no interest is righting a wrong.  After much insistance on my part and just short of a verbal altercation, I finally received a number for customer care.  I called customer care to be told that the branch could, as they had in the past... when they thought I owed and they wanted their money... initiate a trace of the funds to see where they were. 

I have never been more disgusted in a financial institution in all my life.  They hound you when they think you owe them, but are completely dismissive and could care less when they owe you money.  There should be some law against them depositing funds without an account associated with it.  It borders on fraudulent, if its not 100% the case, that they take your money and keep it/deposit it/use it/earn money on it and its not rightfully theirs. 

I had to pay interest (and a processing fee) on my loan...they aren't paying me for keeping my money.  I will never do any business with them again.  And I will make a point of telling everyone I know through every avenue available to me about their shady business dealings.
