Colonial Van Lines Relo Van Lines, All State Van Lines Damaged Goods, Given erroneous information, Margate Florida
Colonial Van lines and Storage, Relo Van Lines, All State Van Lines are one company that seems to scam people out of thousands of dollars and then change their name. They are currently using the name "Colonial Van Lines. Consumers, please be aware of their scams. My experience with them has been a total nightmare. Upon contacting the company, at no time, did anyone inform me that they were a broker and that my items could possibly be transported on the back of someone grandfather pickup truck. Let's begin with the beginning of this nightmare. my household goods were to be transported from Arkansas to Texas. I was to begin my new job on January 11, 2016. My items were picked up on 1/6/2016. I was informed that my good would be delivered on January 7th, 2016, therefore, my parents and I traveled to Texas in anticipation of the move. Needless to say, the movers were a no show. I contacted James (if that is his real name) at Colonial Van Lines, I was then informed that my good would be delivered on 1/10/2016. Needless to say, that did not happen. I contacted James again and he called someone that was supposed to be the actual move, they both promised that my furniture would be delivered on 1/12/2016. Once again my parents traveled from Arkansas to Texas to assist me with the move. The movers never showed up. I informed James that I wanted to know the whereabouts of my goods and that I was attempting to call the State Troopers because now I consider my items stolen. James refused to give information on the actual truck so that the troopers could locate it. I was then informed that my items were in Houston than informed that they were in Illinois. Later I was informed that the truck was in an accident and my items had to be transferred to another truck and my items would be delivered on 1/13/2016. That did not occur. My items were finally delivered on 1/15/2016 with over 90% of my NEW furniture damaged. My items were on a small compact Penske truck (9 rooms of furniture). The truck was also packed to capacity with someone else household goods. I contacted James and informed him of this it was then that James gave me the name of the movers and informed us that Colonial Van Lines was not responsible because they are brokers and not movers. James sent a form for me to complete "to recover the damages from the movers". The form stated that "I would be releasing Colonial Van Lines of any liability". I contacted to movers insurance carrier and then found out they were not the movers. James had me reporting a false claim on someone. Once I informed James of this, he proceeded to inform me that it was actually another company that moved my goods. James also informed me that he did not know the company's name on February 5th, 2016. I have attempted contacting James since (Please see attached call log). Not only is he not answering, I cannot leave a message because the voicemail is full.
