Consumer Portfolio Services - cps Unfair, Heartless, Rude, Overcharging, Harassing, Inconsiderate, Disrespectful and Annoying!!!!! Irvine , California

I purchased a car from a dealership in August of 2005. The finance guy ran a credit check on me  and said that the lowest payment he could get was with Consumer Portfolio Services (CPS). They were faxed a copy of my pay stub that shows all of the deductions taken out of my paycheck and how much I gross each month. When they saw how much I was grossing per month they decided to charge me almost $500 a month for my car, plus they charge me $12 to pay with a check by phone. I was only taking home a little over $900 on the 15th of the month and a little over $800 on the 30th of the month. I was told that I didn't have to make my first payment until September 20th of that year.

I have repeatedly asked them to make the payments due on my payday but they ignore me and continue to set the due date for 5 days after my payday leaving me no choice but to make the payment on my next payday. When I do this they then start saying that I am a month behind in my payments. I have also repeatedly asked them to let me split the payment. It would be easier for me to pay half of the car note when I get paid on the 15th of the month and the other half when I get paid on the 30th of the month but they refuse to let me. It is ridiculous what they are charging me for my Ford Focus!! People with a BMW, Cadillac, or Mercedes Benz don't pay that much for their car!!!!

These people call me all day long!!!! When I had a home phone they would call my home phone and when I didn't answer they would immediately call my cell phone and leave a recorded message. They don't have my work number Thank God!!!!!!!!! They have however, called my Uncle, my friend, and my pastors because they are listed as my references. They are telling them my personal business which I don't appreciate. References are not for them to call and harass regarding my payment. I had the first payment deferred because I didn't have any money in my checking account to pay them on September 20, 2005 and at that time the bank would only cover up to $500 including a $25 overdraft fee for each check that is overdrawn. The payment would have put me over my limit and the bank would've returned it to them marked Non-sufficient Funds.

Once the first payment was deferred they started calling me and telling me that I am a month behind and they need two payments of almost $500 in one month. This went on for so long that a little over 6 months ago I agreed to pay $500 even until I caught up. Which I was doing but I continued to get harassing phone calls and when I would call back and talk to someone to set up a payment that person would try to get me to make a full payment twice in one month. I told them that I was paying $500 a month to catch up. About 3 months ago when I called to set up a payment for the 15th of the month they told me that I was only a little over $200 behind and that I should set up a payment for that amount for the 15th and also set up a payment for the regular amount which is almost $500 for the 30th of the month and I would be current. I agree to do this. Right after the regular payment was taking out of my checking account I started getting phone calls from them and it wasn't even time to make another payment yet!!!!! When I called them to set up a payment for the 15th of last month they harassed me for an extra payment in a June  still claiming that I am a month behind.

I spoke with a supervisor the last time I called to make a payment. I told the lady I was speaking with that it would be easier for me to make the payments if I could split them between paydays and she refused to accommodate me. Saying that because my credit is bad I have to pay the whole amount at once. The people at CPS are very evil and their business practices are very unethical!!! They need to be shut down!!!!! The way CPS is treating people is very disrespectful and degrading. Remember, You Reap What You Sow! What Goes Around Comes Around. The Ford Dealership that put me with CPS is now closed!!!!!!!!!!!! CPS You're Next On The Closure List!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please include me in any class action law suit against CPS!!
