This company is the biggest scam on earth. Stay away from them. Never give them your bank account number or credit card or anything. They will withdraw money from it in a second and never refund it.

Don't feel the pressure to sign up for anything with them. Trust me, you gain more by not signing up with them.

I have cancelled my warranty within the 30 day period so I am eligible for a full refund. However, it has been a month and 4 days now and I still did not get my refund!

If a company cannot refund you your own money, how can they pay for claims that you might have?!

Oh, and just so they tell you that they need to check if you used their service before cancelling. it does not take that long.

Someone must sue them for their unfair practices!

You have an excellent point Christian

Thanks for your input Christian, I agree with what you said, I am not a robot, I absolutely agree that this report is a poor example of the normal experience with my company.

Every time I read a report like this I make sure we are doing everything in our power to correct these extremely isolated incidents. ( And yes I know that there are 94 complaints on this site, but in reflection that doesn't even represent 10% of people we deal with in 1 day, let alone 20 years of operation.)

I just don't consider it a rip off. I think it is improper to have us labeled that way and this site is supposed to alert consumers to harmful scams designed to rip them off and decieve them. My point is, we don't decieve clients, we don't scam them, we just run a business in an extremely hard business to leave every client 100% satisfied.

In all fairness Lonnie...

Your company tells the customer "You have thirty days to cancel the plan and get your entire deposit back. Processing takes 3 to 4 weeks from the time customer service receives written request either by fax, email, or mail" or SOMETHING along those lines.

The process ONLY takes 4-6 weeks if the deposit is done with a CHECK BY PHONE and since this customer has stated that the charge came out of his account immediately, he clearly used a debit/credit card.

One month and four days later is more time than the customer was told. This is not good business on Continental Warranty's part.

I guess when we explained the cancellation prior to you enrolling we weren't clear.

I read this and I think of the word "Scam".

Websters says a scam is: A confidence trick or confidence game, also known as a con, scam, swindle, grift, bunko, flim flam, or scheme, is an attempt to swindle a person or people (known as the "mark" or sometimes "griftee") which involves gaining his or her confidence.

How does are scheme work?

1. Someone contacts us about a product we sell.

2. We offer the product and give the best deal we can offer.

3. We take a refundable deposit and give a client 30 days to cancel if not satisfied.

4. We have a recorded verification prior to gaining authorization to charge the credit card provided where we make sure the plan is correct, the address and personal data is correct, and that we have permission to charge the account. We also out of common courtesy tell someone exactly how to cancel our plan if they end up not being satisfied.

We say on recording that it takes 4 to 6 weeks to receive a full refund on your deposit after we receive your written cancellation request.

I know most companies that sell products online have a similiar time frame on refunds, Dell Inc. , most major retailers, almost any product you buy online for that matter.

The bottom line is all of our clients who cancel in the first 30 days get a full refund. This complaint is honestly just an unfair stab at our company by someone who is frustrated. Understandable I guess, but not a scam.
