"We'll be here forever! Don't you worry." I call the company to cancel the plan because the plan doesn't cover much freedom used. Call the company to speak with my agent, she is no longer with the company.
I get a call from another warranty company and tell them im trying to cancel with continental warranty, they ask who my agent was, all of a sudden, SHES ON THE PHONE WITH ME! She tells me everyone left the company and theyre in trouble.
we did a conference call to the company and asked for four different managers, all of which were on "vacation."
the plan is called "freedom used" because the company has the freedom to use your money on whatever they want, not your claim.

These complaints aren't coming from a customer MKZ is an ex employee and is attempting to disparage the company. It is sad, but not uncommon, I just hope and pray that I never find myself in a position in my life where I have to hide from my real identity and try to disparage someone who I used to work for.
As far as the claims about exclusionary coverage, Warranty Direct doesn't provide a client an exclusionary plan on vehicles over 84 months old or over 60,000 miles, and thats not my opinion that is on their website.
Lyndon Property insurance doesn't allow it either if a vehicle is over 60,000 miles so Auto Warranty Brokers must be offering the Warranty America plan, anyone considering this option keep in mind on Warranty America's website they post that a risk retention company they have sold for years called Capital Risk Retention services has been placed in receivership for the purpose of re-allocating funds, a nice way of saying bankrupcy, please choose a company without a track record of putting Insurance companies into receivership.
MKZ also makes some other false statements about our company having affiliation with other products like home warranties, Continental Warranty specializes in one product, automobile warranties, any alleged affiliation to other products is irresponsible and a swipe at my companies very strong reputation.
Ratings mean nothing? What a childish comment, Warranty Gold did not have a A+ Rating when they went out, they had an insurance company in the Cayman Islands which is not registered with AM Best, they used a re insurer who had a A+ rating but reinsurance is not anywhere close to direct insurance. And if I worked for the company MKZ does I would definitely say comments like "Ratings mean nothing" because backyard companies like that have no ratings with the BBB, AM BEST, or any insurance commissioners.
I am done with blogging in this issue, anyone reading this please keep in mind that the person commenting on my company has an obvious agenda to slander a reputable warranty company and two tremendous insurance companies. If you want facts on my company contact me at lpitts@continentalwarranty.net

ratings mean nothing...

Ratings mean nothing... Every company that has gone out of business has had an A rating from AM best at one point. That am best gives great american an A does not mean squat about your companies financial stability. heck, warranty gold had an A rating + they were dunn and bradstreet verified
And you clearly don't know your company. You should ask Mr. Flin about the major downsize in your north hollywood location.
and lastly, when i go to your website, if i select ANY car, after 60k, your website points me to the freedom used plan, or a lyndon plan which i wont ev even if en get into. i put in that i have a mercedes s500, a car that only an idiot would want that coverage for. but thats what your company tries to push the client.
No mechanic and no dealership would advise their customer to spend 2000+ on freedom used unless your driving a jeep wrangler. to say "we give options" is complete garbage.
Let me tell you about good customer service...
When I spoke with Warranty Direct, or Auto Warranty Broker, they VOLUNTARILY explained to me the difference between named component and exclusionary. When I told them I had more than 60k, THEY STILL DID THAT!!! And they didn't go straight for the "silver coverage," they went for the Gold. THEY OFFERED ME THE BEST COVERAGE WITHOUT EVEN HAVING TO ASK! your telling me some people like less coverage? BS. Why would someone WANT lesser coverage if theyre already spending 2500+? the reality is that your company hopes they dont notice the difference and keeps the plan... Your an idiot if you think anyone reading this is buying your bs... "we give you options, were very informative." blah!
not only is your company a joke, but those "home warranties" youve been selling are all over this website too... the biggest scam on earth.

On coverage plans you had a great question, let me answer it.

In my last post I forgot to respond to the question you asked, specifically how should I know the best plan for me.
We have a very informative website at www.continentalwarranty.net. In the coverage plan section it details every plan we sell based on mileage criteria. We also tailor the plan to the needs of our clients, some people want only major items covered, some prefer to spend more and have everything covered. We have plans and resources to accomadate whatever our customers need.
Anyone reading this complaint, please navigate our website, I think when you see how easy it is to compare plans you will find that this particular complaint obviously was intended to have a hostile reaction to our company.
Any questions on the differences between plans or which one fits you best, please call me at 1-866-989-9100 Extension 1620 or lpitts@continentalwarranty.net
Have a Great Day

My post was just alerting the potential or current customer reading that the comment about us having financial difficulty is incorrect. I am not dodging or making excuses I feel the comment was completely false.
I think AM BEST which is a service that financially rates insurance companies would definitely have a more neutral opinion than me or someone trying to make inflammatory comments towards my company. AM BEST gives both insurance companies that back our company strong ratings.
I just think that the author of this complaint has an obvious agenda against my company, hence the post on a rip off site. After reading the post I disagreed with some of the content, I write a rebuttal as a person who knows the company is not a rip off having invested 6 years of my time with them. And if we were downsizing our management I would certainly know about it, and not be embarassed by it.
As far as a manager and some sales people getting in a van and starting to try to open a warranty company out of someones garage. All business lose sales people and managers to competitors, or people trying to start their own company. We have had a couple instances of this over the year, I really caution anyone buying an extended warranty from some start up chop shop to consider they very rarely last longer than 3 years and bankrupcy is 95% likely in those situations.
Anyone reading this who has questions of other chop shop warranty companies that have had financial problems please contact me directly at 1-866-989-9100 Extension 1620 or email me at lpitts@continentalwarranty.net
Thanks for your interest in our company and as always have a blessed day,

More coverage?

To say that if i wanted more coverage I could have asked and it wouldve been given to me... what kind of comapny is Continental Warranty? since when do i have to ask for th e best product for the best $? your company sells warranties and your agents should be trained to ALWAYS give the customer what is best, not for the company, but for me! when the rep asked me what type of coverage I wanted, I said "everything." how am i supposed to know I have to ask specificlay for the "comprehensive" plan?
if you aknowledged that your company makes mistake WITHOUT a BUT, or a SOMETIMES, maybe there wouldnt be so many reports. everything you say is an excuse and you sound like a broken record.
you know what they say,
if it walks like a duck and it sounds like a duck...

No one was badmouthing your company. the rep i spoke with did not say continental warranty is a bad company, she just informed me in a nice way that they were having trouble and had to downsize tremendously. just like you would tell someone about a competitor of yours going out of business.
you have a way of twisiting every bad thing your company does into a positive.
the fact is you preach about how continental warranty doesnt allow call backs to protect them from fraud. then your company faces a financial hardship, lets go of about 2/3 your entire sales force/management, and now you say "dont worry about us, its the insurance company paying your claim."
Vacation? HA! one or two reps leaving for a competitor? HA! Try 9 PEOPLE FROM YOUR COMPANY ALL MOVE TO THE SAME ONE, INCLUDING A MANAGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and ill bet you anything if i call your company back in three weeks and ask for the managers that are supposedy on "vacation" they will still be in Hawaii, right?

Continental and Great American are very strong financially.

Hello and thanks for your feedback,
Continental Warranty employs a great number of people and as a result we do lose employees from time to time. I think that is true of any company of our size. The sales representative who left our company and went to a different competitor and then decided to bad mouth the organization is not uncommon. Remember that any policy sold by Continental Warranty comes with the backing of a 100 year old insurance company either Great American Insurance Company or Lyndon Property Insurance.
So if your worried about us going anywhere please trust in our 20 years of business experience and the truster reputation of the 2 insurance companies that back our programs.
As far as the agent who went to work for the other company think about this:
A.) She sold you a used car Freedom plan when if you wanted more coverage we could have given you our Comprehensive plan.
B.) She knows the managers at our company all use our vacation time during the months of July and August and have done that since I have worked here. So she calls and ask for a couple of our managers that she knows are on vacation to make you distrust us.
C.) Cancellation is not done on the sales floor, we have a welcome center and a customer service department designed to help you with that. If you haven't had your questions answered or if you are looking for a better program please call 1-800-929-2694.
I hope anyone reading this complaint understands that in the sales industry we often have sales people leave to go work at a competitor. And often in these circumstances they disparage and bad mouth the employer from which they worked for. We cannot control that, but if you want to know the truth you can check out the financial stability of either of our insurers at www.gaic.com or www.ambest.com
