I HAVE A MORTGAGE WITH COUNTRY WIDE AND I AM TWO MONTHS BEHIND WITH MY PAYMENTS BUT I MANAGE TO KEEP IT TO ONLY TWO MONTHS BEHIND. I'VE TRIED WORKING OUT A PLAN WITH THEM SINCE SEPT 08 TO REDUDCE MY PAYMENTS TILL I FIND WORK BUT WAS TOLD NOTHING COULD BE DONE. WHEN I LOOKED AT MY STATEMENT THERE WAS LATE CHARGE OF $76.00 BECAUSE I WAS LATE BUT I ALSO NOTICED AN ADDITIONAL FEE OF $45.00
I CALLED COUNTRYWIDE ABOUT THOSE EXTRA CHARGES AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY DRIVE AROUND MY PROPERTY TO CHECK THAT IS IS BEING TAKENED CARE AND ALSO TO SEE IF I AM STILL AT THE PROPERTY.
I LIVE IN A TOWNHOUSE AND COUNTRYWIDE KNOWS THAT THE PROPERTY IS TAKENED CARE BY THE HOA. MY HOME IS PRIVATE AND THE ONLY WAY THEY WOULD KNOW IF I STILL LIVED HERE WOULD BE TO KNOCK ON MY DOOR. I'VE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THEM AND THEY KNOW THAT I AM STILL IN MY HOME. IF THEY REALLY WERE CHECKIN GHE PROPERTY THEY WOULD KNOCK ON MY DOOR. IN JANUARY OF 09 THEY SENT ME CERTIFICATE IN WHICH I HAD TO SIGN SO COUNTRYWIDE KNOWS DAM WELL I AM STILL IN MY HOME!
THEY NEEED TO STOP THESE PRACTICES AND WE NEED TO START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT TO PUT A STOP TO THIS!

I have a mortgage with Country Wide and am two months behind with my mortgage. I am currently struggling to make my payments as not go over two months behind.
Countrywide charges $76.00 in late fees. They have also been charging a fee to drive by my property. I called County Wide about the drive by fee and was told they want to check that my property is being maitained even though they know I live in a townhome and the HOA
takes care of the upkeep. I then was told that they want to be sure that I am still living in my home. The only way they would know would be to knock on my door which they have not done. I don't keep my car in the driveway it is kept in my garage which is in the front of my home.
I've tried working with them since Sept 08 to see if they could reduce my payment till I found a job but was told it could not be done.
My advice to Country Wide mortgage holders is check your statements every month and if you are being charged a fee for inspections request that they knock on your door and if you are not home to leave a note with the date and time they were at your home.
Why is CountryWide continuing to get away with this? This needs to be put on one of the news shows and the politicians need to put a stop to this ASAP1
