Chris Bumpus, my so-called recruiter, conned me into taking a refresher course to the tune of $1500 to get hired as an experienced driver knowing full well that it would only get me hired as a student driver. In addition, he knew about a hiring freeze in my state the morning I started this course. I know this because my roommate at the motel we were staying was taking the full course to also go to work with Covenant Transport and his recruiter had informed him that Monday morning. (December 3rd) Had he been up front with me about it I could have saved myself going into debt over $2,000 and selling all of my possessions to make this work. He also knew of my financial situation and my terminally autistic son.
This guy, and the company he works for took advantage of my willingness to jump through any hoop to get hired and knew too well of the difficulties I faced and the difficulty of getting an OTR job from my area. I am just wondering what kind of a kickback they got from my tuition. KNOW that I will be contacting the school and informing them of this atrocity. I am totally sunk now with no way out thanks to this sham of a company. I can't imagine how many others they have taken advantage of. Lies and manipulation from a Christian-based company.
I had repeatedly tried to contact Chris since my last conversation with him on Sunday. Since then he has not returned a single phone call, email, voice mail, nothing. When I called today I was informed that my file had been transferred to the student driver recruiting department which was the department affected by the freeze.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Roadmaster's main school is on Covenant's main terminal. They are in bed together regardless of what you think. You are extremely naive if you love this company. I stated all of my facts and they speak for themselves. You chose to see what you wanted to see and replied with extreme ignorance. Your rebuttal is pointless. I did pas the refresher and have the certificate to prove it. I never said I didn't pass, and the refresher course was offered by the school that is on their home terminal. Keep being ignorant and working for that company. They depend on people like you to put money in their pocket. Rest assured that when something happens they will not go to bat for you. Next?

I worked for this company from 2009 to 2011 and came back in 2012 as a rehire. I had not been in a truck for the year and I had to do the refresher course and it didn't cost me a dime. The only time you have to go through this course is if you have your CDL and haven't driven in more than six months. I love my company and I think you are lying. If you paid that then you were in school not a refresher course and therfore the money wasn't paid to Covenant because they don't have a school and if you didn't pass their refresher then you didn't need to drive because the class is the basics. Covenant wouldn't intentionally bring someone on board for them to fail or knowing they wouldn't be hired.
