My husband has been working for Covenant for 3 years. He has past all test and requirements and they have failed to give him a raise. The company is stating that he has maxed out and the are unable to pay anymore than what he is being paid. Then Sept of last year the company did not pay him for one week. After going back and forth with payroll we were informed that he was over paid. We have been asking for proof of the overpayment and the company has not provided any proof this has occurred. Everytime ask for the proof he was advised the person doing the payroll is not in.
As of 11/16/2012 the person is no longer working for the company. The company has continued this practice and has been getting away with it for years. The employees just quit and never fight for the money. The company tries to short pay or make unsuspected changes in the pay hoping that the employees will not check this information. This practice is primarily done after the pay week and your are unable to reach anyone over the weekend to justify the changes in pay. The dispatch helps the company with giving the employess the run around and making it difficult to reach the proper person to assist you. If you want to make money and this your soul source of income this is not the company to choose.
My husband is not from the U.S, has a heavy accent but this doesnt mean that he should be taken advantage of. He was later told that he makes alot of money as though "it should boost his ego". I am American and I will be speaking on hs behalf and taking matters into my hand.

mymoney give details.

You say they (Covenant) doesn't pay you for all you work, but you don't give one single detail to back yourself up.
It is the DRIVERS responsibility to make sure the start, end, and miles on the load assn are correct. You have to get with dispatch to correct any mistakes BEFORE the load is finaled out. If you wait until afterward it has to be done as a charge back and takes weeks.
Dispatch DOES NOT work with payroll to cheat you out of money.
Are YOU filling out your trip sheets correctly? That's how you get paid. If YOU omit an expense don't expect them to pay it out. If YOU don't get an expense authorization number when required don't expect it to be paid out.
I have been an owner operator here for 5 years and while payroll is bad about paying out expenses they WILL fix a mistake if you bring it to their attention. I have NEVER had an issue with not getting paid for work preformed and or miles driven.
Also keep in mind there are 6-8 people in the payroll dept handling almost 5,000 employees (drivers and in house) payroll weekly.
Mistakes are going to happen.
BAD drivers MAY be treated like rags, but I can tell you from experience that if you pick up on time and deliver on time without constant crying and whining you'll do well.
THAT'S THE TRUTH ABOUT COVENANT OR ANY OTHER COMPANY!!!!!
You say they steal you miles in every calculation, but again give no examples.
I think you are as full of crap as the original poster.

Yes, that is true. They use you and do not pay you all you work. The payroll and dispatcher work together for Covenant selfish interest. The driver are just like tools you use and dump.
They short pay you and whenever you called payroll, they have no explaination to give you, what they does in your pay stub, is repeatation of one job order in many time, that you cannot understand your pay, deduction everyline. You will have three pages of paper full of repeatation for a week pay...... I mean there is no atom of christainity in Convenant transport .
Drivers are treated like a piece of rags, the management is very bad and if you are short pay, no one is there to help you................THIS THE TRUTH ABOUT CONVENANT TRANSPORT. If doubt me, try it and see for yourself. Scammers and thieves. They promised heaven and earth , they bring you in and pay you differently. no increase.
They steal your miles in every calculation you can think about , the dispatch work directly with payroll, payroll will like call your dispatch, cos what he wants to pay, that is what we paid. sorry. sh*t

I've been an owner operator at Covenant for 5 years now. While payroll DOES constantly miss things they ALWAYS fix it when you bring it to their attention.
I do not for a moment believe the comment about not getting any pay increases in 3 years.
Also dispatch has NOTHING to do with payroll, and would tell you to contact that department.....that is not "giving you the run around"
Contact Debbie Henderson. She is the head of the payroll dept, and a former driver. She is an awesome person who has helped me many times, and one if the very few people in this company that really does care about the drivers.
If what you say is true Debbie will get it fixed.
