In July 2005 I ordered a credit report from Credit Report.Com
I DID NOT choose the monitering service they offered.
I am one of those people who do not reconcile their checking account. I merely check the bank balance and subtract any service charges. I only noticed the charge from Credit Report.Com because it caused an OVERDRAFT!!!!
I called my bank immeditely and they told me of the companies phone number. Then I called Credit Report.Com The man on the phone told me I chose the montering service WHICH I DID NOT.
And he told me that he could NOT refund my money. I told him that he WILL refund my money and asked for his Supervisor.
The Supervisor, a woman said she would credit my account for Feburary and cancel the service. I said Thank You and hung up.
Now I was beginning to realize...SHE SAID FEBURARY.....upon
checking....yes, they had been charging me every month!!!
Both of these Credit Report employees kept saying they sent me an email. First of all IF they did it went into my Junk folder and then I changed my email address in August.
I never accepted this service and what they did should be illegal. Theft by deception is what it is. They owe me $75
and I want it back.

But when you click yes, to get that credit report you also click yes to the credit monitoring for a year.
The last time I was on the website it was posted in blue font on a blue background in fine print. So it is well hidden, also in the fine print is the website where you can get your credit report for free once a year as per law.
Sorry that you weren't warned. I only checked because I am leary about giving my CC information online so when that came up I wondered why, they needed it since the report was suppose to be free.
