Crescent Processing Company, LP known as "CPC" is the most unethical company I have ever worked for. I was hired as an Corprate Manager "CM" I managed 10-12 Sales reps in the field. This company sales reps make $300 a sale while the company makes $1600 a sale of a unit. They act like there credit card processing machine is the best thing since sliced bread. I have seen hundres of sales reps and managers go in and out the doors and the company has only been around year and a half. They have an Enron mentality to them, you will hear about this company in the furture they have no morals. DO NOT GO WORK FOR THEM!!!! They also have a 90 day period before benifits. 90% will never make it 90 days.

P.S. They talk fast and it sounds good, but you know what that means:o)

In reference to all the complaints. I agree!!!

AUTHOR: Eric - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 13, 2010

I lasted two appointments, failed appointments I might add, before I'd had enough of my "corporate manager".  If you'd like to see my complaint, it was posted today (July13, 2010).  Do not use this company.  Do not work for them.  Thank you for your time.

Over 90 days in...

AUTHOR: Manav Misra - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 08, 2009

I have been with the company for just over 90 days, and I'm a little confused by some of the negative comments I have read. Some people are talking about $800 for a laptop and getting paid on Fridays.

Personally, I have mixed feelings about the company, but I certainly lean towards the positive side.
The deposit is $300 and you do not pay that upfront. You pay $25 out of your first 12 commissions and that's it. If you break or steal or lose the laptop or something, then I understand that they may charge you $800 for it...not exactly sure. You also pay $40 on your first commission of the month if you don't close at least 14 accounts on the previous month. I have yet to close 14, I usually hit 10-12.

As for getting paid, only once has my pay ever been delayed due to a glitch in their system, and that was a 3 day delay. The method of payment is actually pretty cool, because they automatically deposit your commission a day after one of your accounts activate. There is no wait time to speak of. During my first few weeks when I was really doing well, I was getting $200-$400 deposits every day or two. It was great and I was averaging about $800 per week. This was when I was getting 18-20 appointments per week with at least 8-10 being "quality" (meaning that the person was willing to watch the 5 minute video on the laptop, was actually the decision maker, and had their current rates and fees with them).

I'm not a hard closer or a super salesman by any means, but I am certainly well above average in my ability to foster a relationship and present facts clearly to fairly intelligent people with open minds.

On the flip side, I would have to say that the quality of the appointments are sometimes questionable and the last 7 weeks or so have been pretty scant...maybe 15 appoints a week when they supposedly are supposed to provide 15-20 a week. Of those 15, maybe 5 are of some quality, where the person wasn't steamrolled into accepting the appointment and actually is expecting you and/or doesn't seem completely surprised by your appearance.

At any rate, to make good money at this opportunity, you probably do need to cold-call more than I do (I cold-call about 15 minutes a week). The bottom line is I average about $500 a week give or take (first 3 or 4 weeks was a bit higher than this, as noted above). I have had a week that I earned about $1250, but during the holidays when there were only a couple of appointments for the whole week, I made nothing! $500+ a week is not bad considering I only invest about 30 hours a week. If I have to run an errand or take care of something, nobody makes any fuss about it, I just call back in when I am ready to run again, so the flexibility is unsurpassed. Fortunately, I don't really need to make more than $500 per week as my significant other has a regular, steady check that fills in the gaps during my slower weeks. I wouldn't work this job as a sole source of income unless you are single guy/gal with a low "overhead".

I have a pretty good corporate manager that I maintain regular phone contact with each day as I work my appointments. He does his best to follow through and take care of stuff for me and is quite patient despite being swamped with phone calls. According to him, the appointments start really coming in during January, but the first week and a half don't seem to support that claim. If I can just get back to 18-20 appointments a week with at least 10 being "quality", I can get back to making more like $800/week like I did when I first started with these guys.

To summarize, I haven't figured out if my first 5 or 6 weeks where I made $800+ a week is the norm or the last 7-8 weeks when I have been lucky to make about $500 is the norm. I guess I'll know for sure by the end of this month as January is supposedly one of the biggest months and December is one of the worst. However, I don't believe that the company has ever deliberately mislead me or mistreated me and I believe that a majority of my customers have been happy with their service/fees, but a handful have been quite disappointed. That end of it is probably comparable with any bank or processing company out there. If you type the name of just about any major company followed by the word "scam" in Google, something will always come up that makes the company seem negative and it is usually this site or scam or measuredup.

Crescent is legit....

AUTHOR: Jlp - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 02, 2008

I have read this post and I just had to add my own two cents. I have worked with Crescent for more than a year and although it certainly isn't perfect, it is a far cry away from some of these claims below. In my time with Crescent, I have only seen a handfull of sale managers come and go, not hundreds. I seriously doubt they have even hired 100 managers since they opened their doors. Ridiculous claim!!

Along the same lines, there is no way that these guys are making $1600 per account. They give the equipment away. The very nature of the industry demands that the rates and fees be competitive, they are making very little on these. Where is the phantom $1600? I am sure they have a profit margin, what legitimate business operates at a loss? These guys operate on volume margin which means they sell alot of accounts and make a little on each one. Why is that so hard to understand?

They do have their own unique terminal and they do talk it up, but why wouldn't they? it is unique, it does things that other terminals don't do. Frankly, I have better with these guys than with others in the industry. The leads are usually dependable, they give me the tolols I need to sell the account and they confirm the sale with each merchant. Who else in this industry will give you that? I have worked for others, none of them do and as a result, alot of my deals got declined or never went through. These guys make sure it is done right the first time and I like that, no wasted time.

It works for me.

sales rep

AUTHOR: Bamawench - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 22, 2008

I am currently working for this company and would like to know in what way are they unethical. Please be specific, not "unethical". Also, how do they make $1600 on the "sale of a unit" which is free to the client. I am pleased that they believe in their equipment, I do not want to work for any company that does not have faith in their own product. No morals? Again, be specific. I have no issues so far, Yes, sometimes my leads may be 20 miles in one direction and the next lead 20 miles in the opposite direction of my house and I cannot possibly make the appointment, but they are usually fairly decent leads. Many companies have a 90 day "grace" period for employees in the event things don't work out.

It really sounds as though you got fired and are a disgruntled ex employee. Maybe I am incorrect, so give some specifics. Oh, and how much did you make of that $1600? Even then, they have invested a lot more $$$ than I have, and I got a new dell laptop with no upfront fees. And I have a great Corporate Manager who inspires and helps me as needed. How did you treat your reps?

I have an excellent reputation to uphold and would be very upset if I found out I was working for a company that would put a bad reflection on me. I do hope you respond with specifics and straightforward answers.

PS Many straight commission jobs have a large turnover. It's all in the amount of work a person is willing to do.
