Business practices over the internet have become so impersonal that most companies send you a link to refer back to after completing an iquiry form. I completed the inquiry form, got the USUAL reference to a link and replied commenting on that! The response I got was rude and went like this;

Addressed to me by my first name only,

You are not "talking" to a computer... you are communicating... of which obviously comes in all forms.
And you did hear from a "human"... who obviously has typed this email.

Nevertheless, if you had taken the time to follow the instructions on our site, prior.... the question in your initial inquiry would not have needed to have been asked!

Regards,
(not disclosing name of person)

I responded - WHY - I don't know, I should have known better just by the response I received. I felt badly thinking someone may have been having a bad day and that maybe I should explain and did so.

Dear (so and so),

Please excuse me for wanting more information that your link did not provide or could answer for me and that you were so offended by my remarks I made about you not being human. My reference was that I was hoping to speak with someone to discuss more of my questions, not communicate over the internet or be referred to a link on a website which seems to be very common business practice. I will seek another designer. Sorry to have wasted your time.

No reply is necessary.

Have a Merry Christmas!

However, I thoght I should also fax it to the company because if it were my company I would be very concerned about the service my employee's are giving potential clientel. I thought and expected that to be the end of it. However, it was not and Darius (which also mean - he that informs himself - Darius also received Babylon from Cyrus - if that doesn't explain it all) replied to me as follows:

Again, addressed to me by my first name,

No one was "offended" and no one took your odd email "personally"....and our day is going just fine. Your comments simply did not make any logical sense, whatsoever ...to any of us.

For if you did not want to communicate...via email... then you should not have filled our email inquiry form.... and you should not have provided your email address...

Furthermore, notice you never asked in your form... please call me and/or do not email me, etc....Your one question was "Can you help?"... in regards to making a customized garment. That is it. Understand it is not rational to think someone can just guess what you want or mean if you are unable to communicate it effectively.

Also, it should be obvious that businesses "refer" people to links and ask them to actually take the time to read the information on their websites... because the information that the potential clients want is right there in front of them... just as it was in this case. You need to realize the information is there to help not only the business from having to repeat themselves consistently... but also to help the consumer by providing the answers to their questions - quickly easily and conveniently. You obviously do not want that kind of help ... or "customer service" as you say.

So, if you do not want to inner act with businesses, via the internet (email)... then you probably should not send them emails... and would probably be better off actually walking into a physical location.

Lastly, if you were no longer interested... then a reply from you... was not warranted and was not "necessary". Your odd statements did not need clarifying. It was over and the situation was closed.

Bottom line you contacted us and we replied. If you want no further replies to your emails... then simply do not waste more of our time or paper.... by sending us any further emails or faxes... for it is not necessary... and is unwanted.

Good luck on finding a "designer" to work with regarding your request & special needs - for 2007.

Merry Christmas to you as well,
(Again, protecting the name of the individual)

After getting the response to my fax via email, I was curious about the reputation of this company and did some searches over the net and located the report from the woman who actually ordered a dress from them and experienced rude and arrogant service too, not to mention an unwearable product. That inspired me to share what I had just experienced. Fortunately I won't have to experience the same dissappointment she did with her generous donation to them for those scraps they provided her. There are some great designers out there who are not pompus and condscending - I don't think they work at Darius Cordell though. I would really caution anyone who is considering this designer to design something for an important meaningful event such as your wedding or other special occassion unless you are in to this sort of thing!

#2 Consumer Suggestion

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS COMPANY

AUTHOR: T. - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, December 25, 2006

This company had the stupidity to actually post the email correspondence with this potential customer thinking that it will "prove they are right". Shows what happens when ignorance and arrogance is combined.

When consumers received an intial bad response or feeling from a business, trust your instinct and take your business elsewhere.

#1 UPDATE Employee

Clearly Insane....

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 15, 2005

Robin,

If you did not want to receive an email from this company then you should not provided your email address....and/or you should have communicated ...clearly...in your inital inquiry.....please call, do not email.

You thinking that people should read your mind (just becasue of your opinion or experiences on the internet) is just odd!

If you are bitter about the way internet is used...then you should not use it. To think that the internet in general is personal is not rational.

Also understand that a voice does not make something personal.

Effective communciation comes in many forms. You were simply ineffective in communcaitiuing waht you actaully meant...hence the reply you received and have been receiving.

It is the internet. Take it or leave it. BUt to make false claims on a compnay just becuase they coudl not read your mind is illogical.

If you wanted "personal" or in person attention rather..then as they suggested you should have simply walked....into a location...instead of getting bitter about the internet or bitter about someone replying to you in the same exact method you contacted them...???

If you are bitter about people emailing you back (promptly with ways for you to find your answers)after you contact them via email on the internet....then common snese should tell you not to give them your email address or simply do not contact them via email.

That is not rude to point that out...as this company did...it is simple common sense.

Unfortunately it is people like you who drive up prices due to silly frivolous and childish claims.

If anyone reads the ENTIRE correspondence below...they will conclude that your responses were a bit odd.

Clearly in no way were you actaully "ripped off". It is obvious that it is you who is misusing the internet.

Your own "personal" refusal to appreciate email for what it is...and your relucantcy to follow simple brief instuctions to obtain the information that you need - does not constitute a company as having the worst "customer service" or being rude.

This is your own "personal" issue, not thiers.

Questions:

Sewing seems to become a lost art and a talent I do not possess however, I know what I want. I am looking for someone to be able to make a dress off my measurment provided. I want a boat neck top like your B123 and a waist and full skirt like Lucy wore simular to your B5064 except tea length. I want white fabric, but not satin. I have checked web sites, local tailors, everywhere, no one does this anymore. Can you help?
