I purchased a Dell Desktop on April 12, 2006 On-line thru Dell. At the time of purchased Iwas led to believe (along with copy of information I received on-line) if purchase was paid in full by November 3, 2007 I would pay no interest.
I paid the computer by check along with a letter on July 27, 2007. I paid by check as i was having problems making payments on-line. In the begining it was paid thru check-free their chose.
I had nothing but problems with this company since day 1....when I received my computer it had no screen saver nor any sound. When I called I got someone I could not understand. but advised them if they couldn't fix it I was sending it back. They informed me it would be at my cost. I was furious. I ended up keep the computer and having to go to an outside source to help me fix the problem. When I spoke to them that day I also asked for a break down of what I was paying for. All I got on-line was a break down with O price and the grand total. I wanted each individual price to be broken down as it was on-line. Except when I printed it just showed the total. They informed me it would be mailed. Never received.
My credit line was approved for $4,000.00. My total only came to $842.40. Payments each month were $15.00, their minimum payment was never made I always paid more to get it paid off sooner then the 17 months given.
In July I sent them my final payment along with a letter advising them again of all the problems I had making payments on-line and wanted them to be assured this was the final payment I was sending.
In August I received a letter from Dell Financial Services informing me I still owed $182.87 which would be the interest. I called and spoke to some more women I could barely understand to no satisfaction. I then asked to speak to a supervisor, which Hema gave me to Mia the floor supervisor. who informed me computer I purchased suddenly was not the one for the no interest if paid in 17 months. How convenient. This company is crazy. I since have lost my job and have no income, but I did want to have one less worry by paying it off. To find out now they are claiming I still owe.
The copy I have which was printed at the same time I placed my order was to pay off by November 3, 2007. I don't have the $182.87 and as Mia informed me would continue to accrue finance charges. I informed her it was paid in full 4 months early.
When I purchased the system that was the inticement was the no interest if paid in full in 17 months. My daughter (26 yrs old) helped me and also agreed that was a good deal to pay it off in the 17 months and save interest.
Now over a year later they claim that was not part of the deal when I purchased it was for another system. How convenient. I do not owe them a dime and refuse to pay anymore, but something has to be done. I don't want my credit screwed up.
Please help me clear this up or put them on a "Shame on them list" this is taking advantage of people who purchase from them in good faith. I did not ha lucinate the no interest and just decide on my own not to pay it. I'm not a stupid person, as they try to make you think by using who employee's you can't understand. They need to be stopped.
