Dell Financial Services Renegged on original purchase agreement! Rip-off! Austin Texas

The following letter was sent to my state Division of Consumer Affairs and I. C. System (collection agency). They were calling my home and work every day saying I still owed over $380. After I.C. System received their copy all collection activity stopped, they closed the account, and sent it back to Dell Financial Services. I.C. System notfied my state Division of Consumer Affairs they had ceased all collection activity.

Please do not call me again at ANY number you may have on file.

I purchased a computer from Dell Computer Systems last year (July 1st, 2003) on the 90 days same as cash option. Dell reneged on this purchase agreement. Less than two weeks after the purchase, when I found out Dell had reneged on this agreement, I offered to ship the computer back to them if they would provide pre-paid shipping labels. Dell refused this offer to return the computer less than two weeks after the purchase.

I paid the full amount, $1,474.02 September 26th, 2003, which was within the 90 days allowed by the same as cash promotion. This can easily be verified with Dell.

Please find enclosed a copy of correspondence from my telephone service provider, BellSouth. Because of your continued harassment, I have no choice but to refer this to my State Attorney General.

Please do not call me again at ANY number you may have on file.

I learned last week from Dell that they referred the account to another collection agency (Valentine & Kebartas). I tried in good faith to get Dell Financial Services to drop this, but they refused. I called Valentine & Kebartas, but they could find no record of my Dell account. I will not buy another Dell Computer ever.
