In a confounding move, some of our finest professionals are presenting next to Diane Van Ness, who is known in a multitude of cases to violate a variety of GAL statutes and resort to merciless extortion tactics.
I find this to be a most bafflingly incongruous pairing and am appalled at the thought of allowing Diane to represent our profession during such a significant endeavor. As others on this site have reported, I will attend the convention but will boycott her presentation.
To the FLAFCC, this is absolutely appalling and not where we need to go.

I must inform you of the extortion techniques of this guardian ad litem. "Pay me or you don't see your children!" is Diane Van Ness' classic modus operandi.
My colleagues, clients, and I have all tried to report her, but to no avail. She comes across as powerful, professional, and highly connected. She denies any such extortion techniques and uses court docs, largely created by herself, to deny these claims.
Not believable? It's all in writing. And with the top witnesses in Miami.
A multitude of cases have dragged on at the cost of families because of her extortion and false docs. Please be very careful before you work with her as a GAL, attorney, instructor, presenter or spokesperson. Do your research. It is recommended that you research sources other than her connected friends.
You must be well-informed before you connect with Diane in any way.
