DirectBuy staff are quite charming and strictly business. The presentation was inviting and I was told you must join today for $5000 or never attempt to join later. I have made numerous calls to my membership location, but can only get the receptionist. Others fail to return my calls. I tried to make the best of my membership, but have been unable to purchase items I was interested. The manufacturers/suppliers I was interested in are indeed participants, but their complete lines are not available to DirectBuy members. Some items are only packages. I was interested in a lap top. DirectBuy only offered lap top packages including printers, etc. Many, if not all, merchandise is high-end and therefore still pricy. Especially when you tack on shipping and handling. Too much merchandise can be purchased directly from manufacturers/suppliers, including shipping & handling and not cost $5000 to access it. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this membership to anyone. I do not agree or believe the favorable printed reports. My goal in joining was to possibly remodel my kitchen. From what I have seen, I could have spent the membership fee towards the remodeling project. I am not convinced I saved thousands. I am convinced I threw away thousands. After joining, I was given the opportunity to actually shop the catalogues. Whereas I tend to purchase medium-end, I am not ameniable to the high-end (therefore pricy) merchandise at DirectBuy. My attempts to speak with the "owner" of my mermbership location to discuss my displeasure with the whole contract have been unsuccessful.

Its the real deal

Its not a scam if they do what they say they will do - which is to offer products for less - and they do just that. Obviously, you have to buy enough things to save more than membership cost and that's just what I did when I was working on my house.

First, Direct buy is not direct at all. Manufactures do not sell directly, they are not in the business to sell to low volume outlets like Direct Buy. They are a full retail operation who buys from authorized distributors like everyone else. They are not special. And as for saving money, remember you don't save a dime until you at least recoop the membership of 5 grand. This is a pure scam operation, stay away and put the 5 grand into the remodel. At least this way you will have something for your money.
