Ditech Financial Release of over payment of funds Internet

We recently experienced a house fire, our home was a total loss and we were unfortunately a customer of Ditech. We were given precise directions on how to send our insurance claim check by a Ditech employee, per a phone call to Ditech. We followed their directions exactly as they had given them to us. We sent the check and the additional information overnight mail to the address we were given.

They received it the next day - the USPS did exactly what they were asked to do. After 2 weeks of hearing nothing from the claims department, we received a collection call from Ditech- before they would even speak to us, they required us to confirm who we were, remembered they called us - so I explained to the representative that they called us and they should not ask us to verify our information as they already have it - this is how scams work and they - Ditech are encouraging scams to be successful. I did not give the information and I was hung up on by the representative. So I called the Ditech number and I was told our mortgage payment was due and when were we going to make the payment? That insurance check they received 2 weeks ago, it was for 3 times our entire mortgage - we are waiting on them to payoff our mortgage! I was told that the claims department was handling this transaction- well we were just told today that we will not have the over payment of funds - money we need to begin rebuilding - until December 14th - they received the funds on November 8th and have been changing us interest thus whole time!

This company is a ripoff with terrible customer service leadership skills. If you have a mortgage with them, refinance! No matter the cost, it will save you in the long run! This company needs to be shut down by their regulators!
