Like many of you, I installed a new operating system and found that my computer needed an audio driver. I searched the net and found Driver Detective. It was being tooted as the next best thing since sliced bread on a computer site - so I clicked on the link and was immediately taken to the Driver Detective website.
Once I arrived at their site- they made it look like the regular price was $29.95 and they had a line drawn through this price with $9.95 shown. I thought this is not a bad deal and it will save me a lot of time looking for a driver.
So I filled out the form and went to PayPal. There was no price shown here and so I clicked ok and sent them what i thought was $9.95. To my surprise [when I opened my email from PayPal] I saw that I had been charged $39.90!!
the first thing I thought was ... what a rip off. I felt like Driver Detective had pulled a scam and I felt cheated. I immediately sent them an email requestiong my money back.

At any rate, Driver Detective is trying everything under the sun to keep my money - even though I told them I felt cheated.
Do your homework and check these guys out. Go to Google and key in "Driver Detective Scam" and "Driver Detective 100% refund". I think the web will speak for itself - these guys are con artists.
the sad thing is it is hard to see the truth about this company because they run an affiliate program. This means that they pay people to send traffic to their website. Do you think these people getting paid will tell you the truth or what you want to hear so you will spend your money?

Please see my complaint filed June 5, 2009. If you've already tried to get your money back from this company (they also scammed me) you need to contact the Better Business Bureau office in Austin Texas and file a complaint. If you just go to the BBB website and go through the process it will help you direct the complaint to the Austin branch (because the PC Driver Headquarters is in Temple Texas). The VERY SAME DAY that the BBB followed up on my complaint by contact the company....I got an email from the company saying they were refunding my money. So spread the word. Not only should people go to the BBB to get their money back, everyone needs to ask the BBB to force this sham company to take off the BBB logo from their websites.
