This company will solicit you, as a small business owner looking to establish and monitor your business credit.  They will charge up to $500 to issue you with a DUNS number, which in itself costs them nothing.  For your $500, you are allowed to submit up to 4 credit references.

But get this -- no matter what references you submit, they will ALL be rejected -- business partners, banks, no matter what.  My business does over $1.5 million of purchases on credit a year from about 12 business partners.  My business has a bank loan of over $700k.  None of that counts for good old DNBi.  My monthly utility bill is almost $3k -- at least use that?

They willl make absolutely ZERO effort to contact your business partners and they will not lift a finger to earn the money you have paid them.  And, after you have uploaded all your financial data, they will make no effort to verify any of it.  And periodically, you will be prodded with false "ALERTS" -- telling you your "score" went from this to that and back the following month.  ALL WITH NO RESEARCH, NO DATA, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING MOVING THE SCORE".

WHAT A COMPLETE AND UTTER WASTE OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY!!!

Dun and Bradstreet indeed tries to pressure you

I received an email indicating that my "Supplier Evaluation Rating" had dropped. My only "suppliers" are two credit card companies who I pay well before the due date (usually before the next bill is even issued).

When I contacted D&B to inquire why the rating dropped, they tried to sell me a "service" to find out why my rating had dropped. Even the credible credit reporting agencies do not charge to find out who reported on my credit. D&B won't even tell me without paying them something. I believe this is not the actions of a "reputable" reporting firm.

Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp reaches out to small businesses who usually aren't even aware that they have a credit report.  Their Credit Advisers are well trained and can accurately answer any questions you might have.

I originally contacted them to establish a DUNS number for government contract purposes, and they IMMEDIATELY told me it can be done for FREE, but it takes up to 30 days to process.  There is an expedited way to do it where it's established in 3-5 days for $229, which I did, and I actually received my DUNS number the SAME day.

I proceeded to build my company's credit report from there a couple months later, and used the same adviser.  When we were figuring out my references, it was explained to me that it is bills going to other companies I'm doing business with, such as vendors and suppliers.  I asked about bank references and credit card payments and was told they were not considered trade references.  Utilities are also NOT considered references.  Acceptable references were:  Vendors/Suppliers, Advertising, Web services, Lawyers, outsources payroll.

I don't know if you purchased online without a consultation, but your complaint is FAR from the truth.
