Ediets Ripoff preys on people looking for help Internet

Two issues -

1. When signing up for ediets, they constantly have pop ups wanting you to buy "other" products and services. The problem is they pre-select them for you. I unchecked all the boxes but when I was checking out, I saw they added two books to my membership without me selecting them. That is a dirty way to make more money.

2. When signing up for e-diets for $15.96 per month, I read the fine print and it said if you choose to cancel before midnight on the same day you sign up, there are no penalties. After going into my account and reviewing all the diet plans, I decided this on-line diet plan was not for me and I sent an e-mail (per website instructions) to help@ediets.com to cancel the membership. The e-mail was sent approximately 2 hours after the initial sign up. Two days went by and I never heard from them. I could still log on to the website so I called them. They said they never cancelled my membership and wanted me to send the e-mail again which I did. They put me on hold and then came back to tell me that I couldn't have a refund and would be charged a penalty fee because although I cancelled before midnight, I updated my account??? They said this "rule" was in the service agreement. I looked up the service agreement and it was NOT in there. When I told the customer rep, she said it must of not been updated yet but it was in the service agreement you saw when signing up??? The conceeded to waive the penalty but still charged me the $15.96. This is complete scam and I feel sorry for the people who are falling prey to their sneaky ways of making money.
