I ordered a carport from Elephant Structures - Carport.com on June 20th, 2012, putting down a deposit of $156.  The site said that the carport would be delivered and the majority of the time built within 6 weeks (http://www.carport.com/terms/timing/)

I called after 3 weeks and after several phone transfers, getting hung up on, and some confusion over finding my order, they did find the order and said they had no idea when it might be delivered and built.  I then called at 4 and half weeks and was told the same thing, but they would have the scheduling department call.  No one ever called.

It is now 8 weeks after the original order was placed and I called yesterday (08/07/12) again to inquire about the order.  For the second time, I was told I could talk to scheduling but then I was hung up on.  I researched the company and found others have had the exact same experience...I began to wonder if this is just an Internet Scam to steal so-called deposit money from internet customers!!!

Today (08/08/12) I contacted the company again and asked to cancel the order due to the long delay...and I requested a refund of my deposit.  I was told I could only get a refund within three days of the order...but the problem was that I had no idea it would take over 8 weeks, many phone calls, and I still had no idea when the carport might arrive.

My biggest frustration with the company was that whenever I called, they could never give me an ETA, "accidentally" hung up on me often, and when someone finally did call back today, the representative lied and said that they had called me on 07/14 and 07/18 and couldn't get through, so the delays were my fault and they were trying to reach me for installation.  This is not true, as I was calling them during these same time periods and no one ever mentioned they were trying to reach me.  In addition to my cell phone having voicemail, I get and check messages every day.  Finally, they have my email address and could have sent an email as well...but I never received any emails or any phone calls.

Due to the poor customer service, the inability to follow through on my order, and then making up a story (which I challenge them to prove with phone records), I believe I have the right to get my deposit back so that I can do business with a company that will respond to questions and deliver a product.
