EMachine rebate ripoff Bait and Switch Irvine California

I purchased a eMachines Desktop PC at Compusa Store on July 1st, 2005. Compusa advertised a $50 mail in rebate with this PC.

3 weeks later, I purchased another eMachines PC at OfficeDepot Store. OfficeDepot advertised a $50 mail in rebate with this PC. I have no idea they were the same PC Model.

3 months later, eMachine paid 1 out of 2 rebates, refused to pay both rebates, claiming it was the same rebate. I repeatedly try to resolve by many phone calls, but they still refused.

I would like to ask eMachines to honor the 2nd rebate check. Here are the reasons:

1) I believe eMachines trick consumers by believing their PCs were on promotion everywhere in U.S., since PCs were advertised in many different stores. But the fact is, it is only one promotion.

2) Two PCs purchases were three weeks apart, I could not remember if I was purchasing the identical products earlier. I simply based on the store promotion and everyone will think in this way that Store Promotion is an entity, not related to another Store.

3) Even if I know they were the identical PCs, I will still base on the current store promotion, not the promotion in another store where I purchased 3 weeks earlier.

4) I believe eMachines uses unfair policy to trick the consumers into buying their products is illegal by law and eMachines is breaking the law.

5) I am concerned that if eMachines is allowed to use this trick. It will set example for many other suppliers or manufacturers to follow suit.
