Ipurchased a credit card machine from a company call" EVO " the person that sold the machine name is Bobby Jones. He explained that the machine would cost $39.00 a month and when the card was used a percentage would be charged. When the different cards started debiting my account I called to try and get some understanding of what was going on with my account they said I would have to put in writing for the card companys not to debit my account. I sent a letter as they requested they then debited my account for $ 260.00. I called to find out why and they would not explain what was happening I asked to speak to Bobbie Jones. They said he didn't work there anymore so I closed my account.

Evo provides good and honest service

AUTHOR: Stephen Newdell - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, October 07, 2010

My experience with Evo with comparison to other merchant services firms shows me that Evo is a good firm that treats hard working sales people well.

It may be that the independently owned office in Charlotte, North Carolina is not a good one, but that hardly should reflect upon the entire company.

Not one of the people writing reports speaks or writes proper English and not a one of them offered any supporting documentary evidence. It appears to me that all of the reports are written by the same person who probably didnt sell as much as he had hoped to and now, rather than blaming himself, wants to blame Evo.

In one case a woman said she leased a machine. Evo doesnt lease machines. Some one is playing games here.

The salesperson is an independent agent and an independent businessman. None of us are guaranteed any absolute income, nor are we required to work on a schedule, nor do we have a sales quota to meet.

Anyone who has made a living in sales knows its an emotionally trying game. Prospective customers/clients seldom want to listen and analyze carefully. They seem determined to interrupt and object before they have heard a presentation, and generally do their best to make the presentation longer and more difficult than necessary. Their objections often are based upon emotion instead of cold logical numbers. Consequently, salespeople take an emotional beating and work hard sometimes to get nothing but grief.

Evo offers a good service. Evo pays sales people a decent commission for their work and personal investment of time and effort. Evo let me know from the first interview that I would work hard to get started but after some time I would gain more happy customers and word would get around that doing business with me was worthwhile, and consequently my work would become a bit easier and my pay would improve.

It appears to me that this report you are reading is the only one written properly. If I were a merchant I wouldnt place any credence in any of the previous tumult. Buy the services of Evo with confidence. Theyll treat you well and offer you better services at lower prices than your local bank ever will.

#1 Consumer Comment

no rip-off by EVO

AUTHOR: Bob - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 24, 2004

As someone in the industry I can see no rip-off by EVO but a customer unhappy with what she bought. That is the fault of the salesman who didn't fully explain the charges and the fault of the consumer who signed papers without reading and under-standing them. The salesman almost certainly worked for a company that sells card services and equipment. They sign their customers up with a processing company like EVO.

The EVO application is a 36 month contract with a clause for an early termination penalty. That is where the $260 charge came from. The lease agreement is a contract with a different company that will ruin your credit if you don't pay what you agreed. The $39 payment to them probably has a clause that says plus any taxes and insurance we want to add. That is probably where one of the the other charges comes from. The salesman's company would legitimately add a monthly minimum for the percentage of each transaction, a transaction fee of $ .25 and maybe some other monthly fee but these should be on the papers the consumer signed.

The rip-off would be if the salesman (who does not and never did work directly for EVO) had her sign papers without reading them or even leaving a copy.
