Hi,
I have been attempting to dispute something on my credit report from experian and after several attempts they now just say "account has already been verified" and refuse to do any more investigation on the matter. Anyone know what I can do?

Contact the FTC Experian, TransUnion, Equifax - for better or worse want to retain negative data on consumers -

Experian, TransUnion, Equifax - for better or worse want to retain negative data on consumers - but, they are afraid of the FTC. I had an error on my report and after several attempts at requesting correction fell on deaf ears and resulted in form letters "already researched", I finally copied the FTC and the 3-bureaus on the dispute and within 3 weeks, my credit was repaired.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

If its Verified, you need to contact the agency that placed it on your report

If they say that it is verified, then you need to take it up with the agency/company/institution that filed it, experian can't do anything if the agency is saying the debt is outstanding -- that's what verified means...they contacted the agency, the agency responded that account is still outstanding...clear it up with whoever has put that blackmark on your credit report.
This happened to me as well w/ an institution that got bought out by another company. It took three months to finally resolve that my account had, in fact, been paid in full. Another MONTH for them to submit letters to all three credit reporting agencies, and THEN I had to dispute it w/ the three credit reporting agencies to have it removed.
