On or about 2 mar 09 we made an inquiry of Express-Scripts concerning a medication for my wife. I received a call back the since we had a deductable (actually not correct as we had modified out plan) the cost would be $472. I told the person that we would get the medication elsewhere. On 6 mar 09 we received notification that the Acifex had already been shipped at the high cost. When I called to complain they said there was nothing that they could do and that they had no record of any conversation. (blatant lie). Supervisors would not help and refused to pass me on to higher authority.
I sent back the medication unopened but they refuse to credit my debit card.

I worked for express scripts for 2 years. They will not take off the charge once the RX is shipped they can not take it back its a federal law once its mailed from the pharamcy they can not accept it back. You will probably recieve the RX back.
HOw did the RX come to express scripts in the first place. IF you mailed them in they will not hold them they auto process them and send them out. Never mail in RX unless you want them. Your dedcutable will be the same at a local pharmacy as in express scripts except you can break it up in 3 months instead of all at once because you get a 90-day supply with mail order. Think of it this way you get your deductable paid off sooner and You can make payments to express scripts instead of putting it on your cc they will just bill you and then you can break up your payments just like you would at a local pharmacy.
All express is your pharmacy benefit manager they do not make the policy your insurance company does they just follow it .All this information is in the paperwork they send you. Now, I am not saying I agree with express scipts on all their policies but I am just telling you from me working with them for 2 years. I quit 2 years ago and but I know the policies have not changed because I am friends with current employees.
