This company should be closed down. They are useless. There customer service is non-existent. I have dealt with them in the past and my experience has been terrible. They lose prescriptions, they take weeks to input information. You could be waiting for several weeks to get prescriptions. My doctors office refuses to fax anything to them because they always claim it has not been received(IE YOU NEVER SENT IT)
You could be dead or seriuosly affected before they get round to sending your medications out to you.
Businesses that perform at this level should be banned from being involved in any aspect of someone's healthcare.

Walmart will fill 3 month prescriptions it takes about 30 minutes. EXPRESS SCRIPTS could take WEEKS to fill the same prescription.

BAD COMPANY, LOUSY SERVICE A perfect example of the level that healthcare has sunk to in this country.

I have had similar problems with 2 other mail order pharmacies my myself

AUTHOR: Laurie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 19, 2009

I do not remember the name of one from a very long time ago, but it was before employers started requiring employees to use the mail order service. So I had my option of either mail order or local. When they screwed up my refills or just not processed them I went back to my local pharmacy.

Most recently it has been Medco - and they too have problems with processing. More so when Dr's need to be contacted for refills. they would wait 48 hours to even fax the refill request to the Dr's office and send me the "Your Dr has not responded" emails. When I call the Dr's office they received that same day I received the email. Now when I know I need a Dr's refill - I call and just let them know to expect it from Medco - I call it my quarterly fight with Medco.
Everyone I know in the company has had problems with Medco and complaints to HR fell on deaf ears.

Now I have another new one - although I do not know the pharmacy name yet. We transitioned to new benefits this year and SOME OF US are still waiting to receive our insurance cards etc...

Consumers are not the problem!

AUTHOR: Suzanne - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 19, 2009

Representatives and former/current employees of this company always have the same response: "Consumer doesn't know what their doing and somehow screwed up the order" and "Go to your local pharmacy".

Unfortunately, I am REQUIRED by my insurance company to use this terrible service for my prescription because "going to my local pharmacy" means I'll pay about $700 for a month's supply of my medication. I can not afford that; can you, Express Scripts employees?

Also, I know that my refill was complete and accurate because it was transferred to Express Scripts directly from Caremark. Yes, the refill is current. Yes, all my information is on there. Finally, Express Scripts communicated directly with my doctor's office about the prescription. No error or ommission on my part.

HOWEVER, Express Scripts has bungled my refill over and over. They have not processed it quickly. They don't know WHY the error was made. They don't know why the refill status disappeared from the STATUS section of the website. They don't know why I received an automated call on Thursday that advised that my prescription would be mailed on 01/19/09, when it hasn't even been processed yet. They don't know when my prescription will be processed, but the processing takes 3-5 business days. The supervisor said she can find out and call me in 24 business hours (yeah... that's THREE DAYS).

So while I am sure call center employees ARE yelled at by frustrated, irate customers for eight hours straight, I am also sure that the ire is well deserved by this hideous company. Consumers are not the problem; Express Scripts is the problem!

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

I think I may help

AUTHOR: Former Employee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 24, 2008

I used to work for Express scripts for 2 yrs. I do not work for them any longer because I did not like how we were treated as well. But, I need to asked when you sent in your prescriptions did you put all the information on the back of each RX, Ie Your Member ID, your DOB, your mailing address and telephone number so if it got separtated from any other paperwork.

Also did you make sure you did not send your RX to St Louis where the billing department. And to the correct pharmacy, They have several, one in Tempe, Bensalem, Alburque and Orlando and one in St Louis as well. We had a lot of patients who sent their RX in the billing envelope and it went to the billing department..

I am sorry your having problems but once you get started with them they are fairly easy to work with. I was one of the ones who got yelled at because of the problems even though I was thousands of miles away from the acutal pharmacy. My husband and father in law do their rx through mail order and we have not had one issue but it helped that I knew the system..

Also I wanted to address that you can get your RX sooner at a local pharmacy but did you know that they only fill maybe 100-300 a day compared to 1,000,000 a day through express scripts. I am not defending them at all because I did work for them and I know they are not perfect believe me I KNOW!! But sometimes its not always the companies fault , sometimes the patients do not read the stuff that is sent and how to send in the RX correctly.
