Today is 10/09/09 and I just came back from the salon where I went to get a relaxer done. For those that doesn't know what a relaxer is, a relaxer is a chemical proces in which the natural wavy hair (like the type of hair some and black people have) is made straight. I walked in Fantastic Sams and signed in, after maybe 15 to 20 min the receptionist calls me in and introduces me to my operator, some foreign lady, who barely spoke English, she was Korean. So she ask what do I want done and I tell her a want a relaxer and after that a hair cut. This woman went to another operator also Korean and started to speak in their language, I assume she was asking her how to do a relaxer. She brought all the tools and started to apply the cream on my hair. She didn't even prep the hair, hairline and scalp by applying a coat of Vaseline or anything, she just jumped into applying the cream. Once she's done, the normal procedure is that with the back or spine of a fine tooth comb she starts relaxing, type ironing the hair, instead she rolled over a stand up drier and stock my head there, God knows what for. At this point I grew alarm and asked her if she wasn't going to use the back of the comb... she babble something about my hair being previously relaxed, my highlights and something else I didn't understood.  She sat down to read a magazine while waited for my hair to "cook" on his own, by then I was furious and told her that my scalp itched and I wanted her to wash my hair and  to forget about the hair cut.


Her supervisor keep talking to her in Korean, about me off course and how annoying I was (most definitely). At the end, she only shampooed me once and put some conditioner and God knows what else and try to relax the hair with that junk. I'm growing furious by the minute. She washes my hair and takes me back to her station to blow dry my hair and flat ironed. The end result, all my weaves were there, laughing at me, the hair looks hideous and she's trying to make small conversation with me when all I wanted was to ring her neck and her supervisor's neck and the receptionist, they were all seeing what was going on but nobody gave a rat's tail.


Aha! but now here come the time to pay, this woman had the audacity to charge me $62.83 for a crappy job, so crappy that even a blind man could see it and I had to put my ball cap back on. When I asked for a comment card, they told me they don't have comment cards but she gave me a business card ans tells me that I can call later and speak with a manager if I want because right now all the have was a supervisor, the same one who was telling Grace(that's the name of the lady who did my hair).


I am utterly in awe of the lack of knowledge that this people posses, I mean, we are entrusting them with our hairs, the only hair we have, just because we believe and think they are professional hairdressers, beauticians,whatever you might want to call them. In all my life I've never seeing this kind of relaxer, no matter where you go to beauty school, the process is the same.


These people, endanger my hair(what if my hair fell off or broke ), had a bad attitude and horrible customer service and on top of everything I had to pay them for a crappy job.. Please, somebody do something and for others like me out there, no matter what type of service we seek from them, don't go there any more and tell your friends not to do so either.


Sams, you have nothing of Fantastic, shame on you people.
