Father's Choice They claim to help file court papers for child custody, support, etc. for $49.00. They ask for account # and then stonewall untill they double bill your account and then tell you that it is going to cost $1,000's. Then they stonewall again so they can gain enough tim to bill your account again even after you have cancelled your account. Goleta California

I was looking for economical help to file court papers to gain custody of my child. I found father's choice on the web and called them. They said that they could help for a $49.00 flat fee.

They then ask for your account # and they say they will sent you an email with info and the name of your case manager within 15 minutes and to watch the movie. And if you accept their terms and conditions then click the "accept" button - if you don't wish to participate then click "decline" and you will not be charged.

I gave them my account # and waited for the email for additional info and to read the terms and conditions. After not receiving the email after 24hrs I called them. They said that they had recorded the email wrong and corrected my info and they would send the email promptly. They also gave me the case managers name and they said that he would call me to go over the details.

I checked my account and noted that they had already taken out the $49.00 within minutes of speaking with them the first time. 5-14-2008

The case manager called me (Seth) [they wouldn't give a last name] and told him my situation and he told me then that they could help, but it would cost me $1,000's for doing the court paper work. That they don't really do the paper work but that they will send me to an external attorney. We hung up and he said that he would call me back with additional info.

I never heard back from him and had not received the email about the terms and conditions. So I called them to ask to speak with "Seth" but he could not be reached. I then told them that I do not wish to participate in the program and that I had not received the email.

They said that I need to click on the email they will send me and "decline" services and I will no longer have to participate and that my $49.00 would be returned within 2-3 weeks.

So I finally received the email and chose to decline services and printed out the page that said that I "declined service". This was 5-15-2008.

On 5-23-2008 I noted that they were trying to take another $49.00 from my account. So I called them and asked them what was going on and told them that I had declined service and that they were suppost to return $49.00, not take another $49.00 and that I wanted my money back. The lady said that I wouldn't get my money back today and hung up on me.

It took four (4) phone calls and they finally returned the second $49.00 but said that the first $49.00 would not be returned.

I then called the bank and reported the fraud and they cut the link between them and my account and the bank then returned the $49.00 and would investigate.

I called them and recorded the conversation and they claim that I chose to accept the terms and conditions, but I printed the declaration page showing that I chose to decline their services. They said that they would send me the email proving I accepted. Of course, I haven't received that email yet. Go figure.

These people just want access to your account and they try to stonewall you enough to get as much money as they can. The advertisement is a lie and fraudulant.

I checked with the BBB and they give Father's Choice an F. Which is the lowest out of nine rankings. Pretty sad!!
