I have had my propane turned off for almost 6 mo. I got a company to help pay the bill it was extremely high . Ferrell Gas knows we need them , they are the only propane co out here for city use and their prices and the way they do business is outrageous .
Any ways HEAP pd my 400.00 end of Jan it is know the middle of Feb and they say they haven't received it. "When they do i have to pay a 129.00 for them to drive up the st from them and then 89.00 for them to use their key to turn it on. Thats a bunch of crap.
I am temporary disability i had surgery on my hands .I feel they need to be allot more leaner to the customers They say they value their customers. Really. They need to regroup and start thinking of their customers. All i need to do is get everyone i know to fill this out. We just might have it.

Propane or Gas?

Last time I checked you cannot turn off Propane - it is pumped into a tank.
I agree with the respondent - you are getting your bills paid through taxpayer monies! BTW if you are disabled because of hand surgery how are you able to type a report?

I agree, it sucks that companies charge large amounts for some guy who doesn't even need to know how to read to come out and flip a switch or plug in a wire. The problem is, especially with regard to gas (if you have a gas heater and an electric stove/electric water heater) is that for a few months out of the year, depending on where you live, you can easily get by without your heater. So there would be lots of people who would just not pay their gas bill when summer comeas around with the intention of paying and getting hooked back up in time for winter. So - if they didn't charge these stupid hook up fees, every summer the gas co would have to turn off the gas for tons of their customers and every winter they would have to turn it back on for the same people. That would take a huge number of people and be really difficult to manage, so to make it so that it is not worth it for people to do this, they charge the fees. (It is worth noting that if people did this the companies would still have to charge the fees because t would cost so much t to get everyone turned off and then on again.) So, as normal, the problem is really that all the subprime pov types would try to game the system if they didn't have these fees. So the companies have to implement somthing that sux for everyone because the deadbeats ruin it for all of us.
BTW HEAP = Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). That means that the taxpayers paid $400 of your gas bill for you. So you still came out ahead, and the poor jerks that go plug away at work every day got to foot the bill. It sucks that you had to have surgery but it is your fault that you did not plan well enough to have an emergency fund so that you could pay your basic bills while you recovered. We need to get rid of these stupid programs like HEAP - my job is to take care of my family - not you. So in my book the OP sux, the gas company sux, HEAP sux, and I am pretty stupid to but atleast I pay my own way.
