Fields Data Recovery Kept my 1TB Drive for over a month. The only thing they did was open it - but NOT in a CLEAN ROOM! St. Louis Missouri

This company advertises $199 Data Recovery.   They offer quick turn-around. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The only thing they did was "hold" my drive, and remove the top cover - in what was not a class 100 clean room.  Then, after a month, I had to demand they return my drive.  I sent it out for a "credible" repair, but I was told Fields, it appears, intentionally scratched the top platter in the drive.

Not only that, I work with this technology all the time.  I knew the problem was a bad PROM on the controller board.  They kept telling me they were going through their "library" of thousands of boards, but never indicated they'd placed an order for the right part.

This was the worse experience I've ever had with a drive recovery company.  Never again.
