Fingerhut ripoff St Cloud Minnesota

Fingerhut is claiming I made a purchase in January, 2000. We moved in November, 2000 and paid off all our bills. In 2004, I received a collections letter from a collection agency, Plaza Associates, stating that I owed $600.00+ for merchandize I had ordered. I contacted them and and advised them, I did not order merchandize from Fingerhut, he suggested I call Fingerhut. I called Fingerhut and they would not even talk to me and referred me back to the collection agency. Finally, after a few letters to this collection agency, they ceased writting and closed their files. Than I started getting letters from Midland Credit Management with a different amount owed of $1,000.00+. I wrote them a letter and many more and asked them to validate this debt, and they have not. They have called on numerous occasions and sent many letters. I finally sent them a cease and desist letter but my credit is ruined because of Fingerhut. I have written letters to all 3 credit bureaus and asked them to investigate this claim. The letter I got from one of the credit bureaus was that this debt would be cleared in 8/2007. I am not satisfied with this as I never ordered any merchandize from Fingerhut in 2000. I have been fighting Midland Credit Management for 2 years and not once have they validated this claim. I recently read that Fingerhut has been doing this to other people, regarding false claims and I would like to know if there is a lawsuit against them, because if there is, I would like to join in. My husband owns a trucking company and this has effected his business credit cards and business loans.
