Firestone Complete Auto Care Do not Gift Card issued by Firestone!!! Daytona Beach Florida

I was sent a "Gift Card" for $15 from Firestone Complete Auto Care on Nov. 25 2008. It stated "$15 off your purchase, Including Sale Items". The fine print on the back stated "No activation necessary. No cash value. Gift Card is good for one-time use only and must surrendered upon redemption. After one use, it will become invalid and any unused amount will be lost. Gift Card cannot be used to reduce outstanding debt. Shop fees in the amount of 6% of labor charges will be added to invoices greater than $30. These fees will not exceed $25 and represent costs and profits. Shop fees not applicable in CA or NY."

I presented this card to the Firestone Dealership at 300 S Ridgewood Ave. in Daytona Beach Florida. I asked for the Oil Change special for $16.99 + disposal fee and sales tax. I was told that I could only use it on a $30 purchase. I showed them that that was wrong! He said said I could not use it on the Special, I showed him where that was wrong! He still would not honer the Card!

Contacting the Regional headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida I explained the situation to them. I was told that both head of that office and this assistant were both out of town. They took my number and I was told I would receive a call from one of them in a day or two.

A hour for so latter I received a call from the individual that had denied me the use of the card and he said he had done some more research, and that I would be allowed to use the card on a sale item. Implying that he was doing me a favor, and normally it would not be allowed on a sale item. I explaned I had already went to one of there competators and had it done, I was no longer in need of there services!

This is not the first time I have problems with store. A year or so ago I purchased a set of tires from them and I had to return 4 times to get them balanced right. They try to Up Sale me every time I go there for anything. I am canceling my credit with them, and will no longer do business with them!
