Approximately 3 months ago(sooner if I had known earlier about this site) I found a screw in the front driver's side tire of my van, it was in the middle of the tire, so I knew it was able to be fixed by a patch.

I went to the Firestone Complete Auto Care and walked into the lobby area and found a group of employees huddled around a computer. I asked if I could get a tire patch and the one of them worked up a service order and told me it would only be about 30 minutes to patch it.

I came back 30 minutes later and the employee said that I had a "bubble" and a hole in the sidewall of the tire and that I needed a new tire, at that point he slid a bill across the counter to me with the cost of the new tire on it.

I told him that I was paying in cash and that I would come back with a credit card later, at this point I told him that I would take my van with the old tire still on it, they had not put the new tire on it yet so I just left as I came in.

When my wife came home with the credit card I thought I would go to the Goodyear Tire Center instead to get the repair, since it was closer to our home.

I drove to the Goodyear Tire Center and told the employee about the tire and what the Firestone guy said, the Goodyear guy said ok, come back in about 45 minutes.

When I came back to the Goodyear, the Goodyear guy asked me if I was sure I told him the correct tire, I said yes, the Goodyear guy said the tire was in fine shape, and that a simple $7.50 patch had made the tire good to go.

I called back the Firestone to confront them on the issue of my tire, and all of a sudden nobody knew anything about my tire, no computer record, nothing.

I called my Brother who lives in a town nearby and he said that he had a simular experience with the Firestone Complete Auto Care in his town.

Firestone Complete Auto Care seems to operate on deceptive business practices, so be warned!
