I bought a macbook from gainsaver in July of 2009. I received the macbook a few days later. The computer arrived in poor condition with cracks on the frame surrounding the screen. I had several other issues but they weren't major. The computer lasted about 6 months. I purchased a 1 year warranty so I sent it back for store credit. As soon as I received the credit I ordered a replacement. I called them a week later and they told me the item would ship out the next day. To make the long story short I called them almost everyday for 6 weeks and got the same rude response. When they finally had the macbook in stock they talked me into upgrading some of the features as well as extending the warranty.

After I spent an extra hundred dollars the macbook arrived dirty with the same cracks. I decided not to complain since they told me the cracks were covered under warranty. I had that laptop for 2 months and the superdrive stopped working. I called gainsaver and they told me I would have to send the macbook back. I told Steve that I was hesitant to send it back because of the issues I had the first time. He told me that he would just refund all my money (except the warranty) since I purchased the warranty. I was surprised because they clearly state that they don't do that. I made sure that he was a where of that and he told me that I have an option for a refund because of my warranty purchase.

I was still concerned so I had someone else talk to Steve and he told them the same thing. I also asked him if there was anything that would prevent me from getting a  refund and he assured me that I would not run into any problems. I ended up sending the computer back to them. I got a confirmation from UPS saying they received it. I sent them an email a few days later and they said they would call me as soon as they received it. I found that strange since I knew they already had it. I called immediately and talked to a woman who carelessly said the computer arrived damaged. I told her it was packaged well and that was impossible. She described it to me and the damages were the same cracks on the frame by the screen. I told her it arrived like that and she said that didn't matter. She also admitted that it probably arrived like cracked.

She offered me 25 cents on the dollar. I told her that was ridiculous and I would just like the laptop sent back to me. I said I would pay return shipping. She rudely told me they wont do that and also said they wont give me any money back anymore, since I was rude to her. I called back many times trying to figure out the problem and they told me they closed my account and that I will have to take them to court. I also noticed that they sell the same frame on their site for $13. They should have just subtracted $13 from the refund instead of selling it to someone else. Anytime I call they hang up on me. I live in Ohio so they know taking them to court wont be easy. I am now in the process of taking them to court. Avoid them at all costs!
