Gainsaver Sold me a defective computer and will not issue credit even though i returned it Signal Hill California

I called Gainsaver 3X prior to buying a refurbished Mac Laptop to make sure the warranty included phone support as this was my first computer and I was/am clueless. I was assured it would be like buying from Apple

I was told I would have the latest O/S, webcam, carry bag. I received the computer minus the bag on a monday. On Thurs I had problems already and spoke to Shar who gave me Apples' 800 support line. Big shock, the computer was out of warranty so no help.

I called Shar back and she gave me another 800# for a place in Dallas who had no affiliation with Gainsaver or Apple and wanted them to stop giving out the number.

I called and was told to return the computer. By the time I had managed to speak to an Apple Tech where I found out i had an outdated operating system which was corrupt. That was why windows were blank, mouseclicks didnt work and the only fix was an expensive disk with the new O/S.

I contacted Gainsaver for an RMA which you have to do online. ( they do not have an email address). I got the RMA and in huge letters it said STORE CREDIT ONLY. It's nowhere on their website or in their terms. They also try to assess restocking fees even though that's nowhere on their site.

I immediately called VISA to dispute the charges, and then packed up the computer, shipped it back and then started filing complaints with the BBB, FBI internet Fraud Unit and Consumer Affairs.

The latest response through the BBB was they did not overcharge me by $50 (they quoted me less) and had me in collections! Not possible. They have the computer.

I rebutted to BBB of Los Angeles who's online rebuttel does not work demanding a credit.

What I've learned is that they have 2 addresses in Long Beach, one in Torrance but their fax is Las Vegas and on Macforums there are addresses in Las Vegas.

It is shocking to me that these people can make up the rules as they go along and not have anything done to them. Any suggestion on dealing with these jerks, please advise. I'd like to shut them down. I cannot believe they are still in business and on ebay.

Anyone who gets money back is lucky. I'm disabled and on a fixed income so I cannot afford to lose that money, but who can?
