I reported to Geico that my car was stolen on Feb.9,2009. I followed all the directives that Geico gave me and supplied all the necessary documents that I had in my possession. Some of the papers were in the car,showing the parts that had just been replaced on the car. They are refusing to honor my claim,telling me in so many words that I am a liar. I have never been so humiliated in all my life. We even had to take off from our jobs, travel for 45minutes and give a statement under oath and not given the opportunity to explain in detail but told just to answer the questions and not ask questions.

My spiritual belief is more important to me than anything on this earth. When someone discredits me in such a way like Geico did, I feel that I cannot allow them to treat me or anyone else that way. I did nothing illegal and have no knowledge as to where my car is. Because the is a slight difference in the time given by me and my family they are accusing us of being liers.

Don't take it personally. They pull the same psychological crap on their employees as well. If you filed a police report, I hope they settled your claim. You should be able to get duplicate receipts from the work/parts put into your car. Then just get monthly statements from checking or credit card to prove you paid for the parts.

First off, let me say that I am sorry for the frustration this has caused you. Secondly, let me say that I am not just a GEICO agent, but I work for a number of Insurance Companies... Liberty Mutual, Allstate, Geico, One Beacon, Travelers, and many more less popular companies. Over the past year I have seen alot of this activity, and let me tell you why. Over the past year, verified insurance fraud has skyrocketed about 150%. Because of this, many adjusters are being advised to be super-vigilant with their claims. This was not a personal attack and I apologize for some adjusters being so rude. A lot of owners try to take advantage of us and it gets old. I've been doing this job for a while and can sniff out sketchy situations. I'm sorry for your loss, literally, and I hope this gives you some insight as to why you may have been faced with animonsity regarding your claim.
