Global Warranty What a bunch of conn artists, a complete scam-we need to shut this company down! London, Ontario Canada

I bought a 2001 Saturn Sc1 from a dealer in Cambridge. He asked me if I wanted to pay an extra $700.00 to warrant all major drive train on the vehicle. 3 weeks after buying the car at 150,000 km. The car started to jerk when reversing, then one day it completely slowed to a 50 km an hour pace. I took it to a mechanic on Courtland where they scanned it and it had all major codes showing major transmission problems.

I thought "Thank god, I got this warranty" being a student that works 3 jobs. I called the 800 number for Global Warranties, told customer service my problem, they wrote it down and called me back 2 days later. They then told instructed me to take it to one of the three shops they deal with. I took it to a shop which will remain nameless. After inspection, they called Global.

Global then contacted me and said the transmission wore out and it was my fault citing it as a "Wear and tear". After 3 weeks of driving this car I must have wore out the transmission. The owner of the transmission shop had taken a particular liking to me and told me that they do this all the time to people. Make up excuses for mechanical issues and then renag on their claims. The shops they tell you to go through are all set up and paid by Global to make even more money off of you. This company is a disgrace and should seriously be shut down.

After calling back customer service and getting irate with the woman I was talking to, I was transferred to the manager which I threatened with a lawsuit, the BBB, the media. He then got irate right back and hung up on me. I called them crooks and demanded my $700.00 dollars back. I got exactly that back after forking out $1200.00 plus the $700.00. The manager of the transmission shop told me NOT to get it rebuilt, that I would have further problems with it down the road. Total of the headaches was $2,100.00.

Oh sorry minus the $700.00 they so kindly could credit me. Scam artists. Lets shut them down.
