How is this company still in business? I want someone to explain to me how this company can continue to swindle people out of their hard earned money, they treat their employees horribly but here we are still complaining about them and nothing is being done...or maybe there is?

I worked for this company in the activations dept. located in Ozark,MO and this is the perfect job for you if you enjoying smoking pot not only on your 5 minute break but also during lunch. You and your supervisors can enjoy getting high together and if pot isn't your deal then maybe a nice pill cocktail is what your looking for..see Dena Young cuz she enjoys cocktails of all sorts if ya know what I mean! At Grand Crowne you can lie to your customers and simply get away with it, no problem..If you are a dedicated hard working employee, who comes to work every day and you are honest, then this is not the job for you. Oh, and you dont like your work hours? Thats okay, you can take 3 day weekends every week and you can still keep your job..attendance is optional here. If sexual harassment is your kinda thing, this is the perfect place for you. You can start in the Springfield office and get brought up for sexual harassment by former female co-workers, but then they will just send you down to the Ozark office,promote you to Team Leader just so you can sexually harass some more women, no problem, nothing said. Having problems keeping a clean record and jail is your home away from home? That's okay, at Grand Crowne you can be thrown in jail for being a swindle not only at work but also in your outside life and after your stint in Greene County you can simply walk back in the door and still have a job! Enjoy meeting new people? Wonderful! This place is a class act when it comes to hiring and firing people for no reason. One day your working minding your own business and the next day your being walked out the door. If Dena doesnt like you or you know too much about what is REALLY going on, you'll end up on the unemployment line like I did. So in conclusion, at Grand Crowne if you just lie your butt off, come to work at your leisure and keep you mouth shut you should apply. I, on the other hand would not pay 5 cents to watch this place burn to the ground and am grateful I am not involved with this screwed up company anymore!!!

Grand Crowne will Never Change

I am legal professional who was once employed at Grand Crowne.  My employment only lasted a few weeks because I was told you don't get a paycheck you get a draw if you don't sell anything and many of the employees reported to me they were still waiting to get paid on deals that were closed in previous weeks.  I got a bad feeling so I didn't stick around.   I wish I would have known then what I know now and I am surprised that the company is still in business. 

First of all every woman who works for Grand Crowne Resorts reports the same thing.  Being harrassed.  I was a victim of this too.  Its like a sport for the men there when a new girl comes in to see who is going to hook up with her.  There is alot of inappropriate behavior there and it is totally unprofessional.  No there are no background checks and alot of drug activity.  Grand Crowne doesn't seem to care.  As long as you get people to sign the paperwork and purchase one of their vacation packages they will turn a blind eye to your behavior.  If you report it or try to say something they will fire you because they don't want to lose a sales person who closes deals.  I was a witness to this. 

As far as the person who claims you can't investigate why a person went to jail because its discrimination.  That's not even what discrimination is.  Companies require background checks in order to protect their business and clients from individuals who may pose a threat.  Being a felon or having felony charges does disqualify you from working in some companies.  Working for Grand Crowne either in the phone room or as a sales person you are privy to an individual's personal financial information.  As a sales person you take client's and show them the "models" putting people alone in a situation with a person who could or does have a history of violent crime.  Being under the influence of drugs and alcohol while entering into a financial agreement is grounds for default.  So before you go spouting off on what a company can or cannot do about employees who go to jail or do drugs in their personal lives why don't you either go to law school or become a human resources specialist because you don't know what you are talking about.  And the individuals I worked with while at Grand Crowne I looked them up when I got to law school one is in prison for meth and identity theft, one is in prison for meth, gun possession, and statutory rape, and the other is on parole for mail fraud and I bet still works for the company. 

In my practice I encounter many people who are trying to make the transistion back to society after being incarcarated perhaps I should tell them to seek employment with Grand Crowne.

Thanks "last laugh" for wishing me a good nights sleep. Lets see its 12:30 p.m. and I just woke up. I feel so refreshed thanks. Anyway, Its too bad that Dena made an announcement to you guys that you need to come on here and and write positive things about the company so you all didn't look so bad.Its too bad you are so easily coerced by such an evil person.Sorry you have no self esteem. Dont try to say she didnt because I still talk to employees there.

You can say all the positive things about the company you want but if Grand Crowne was such a great place to work why is there page after page of negative stories on here about them. And this is just one site. Have you Googled lately. There is bad crap everywhere. I will give it up for Dena for at least not letting people fall asleep on the job. At least she noticed when she is there which I hear isnt very often. As for me, I am resting the very best I ever have since I dont have to listen to
people lie and bull**** their way through a 6 hour shift. However, this is my last entry about this stupid place cuz talking about it is such a waste of my day when I could be shopping! It is also refreshing to breath clean air and not have to smell freaking pot an certain employees breath every time they come back from break or lunch. Not working there is just better for my health all together. I may be in my 30's but drugs are hard on the body..

First and foremost I would like to relay to current or future Crowne employees that not every worker is like the original poster; not everyone is a 40 something with a bad attitude and no work ethic. Some of us clock in, do our jobs and leave happy. And make no mistake, I know the original poster. I happen to know that everything typed in the original post is just
bitter lies from a disgruntled employee... Bottom line is that Karma is a real thing, and the people targeted in this post will be gratified to know that the former employee has caught a glance of it. The things you do in your life haunt you and the untruths you say apparently weigh heavy on your soul.  Grand Crowne is a successful company for many reasons: we take care of our customer and try our best to deliver the best customer experience possible. Grand Crowne cultivates a team environment where employees are encouraged to provide great customer service, and are rewarded for doing just that.  Any one walked out the door would have no doubt had that coming to them.  And since Freedom is no longer here to dampen the work environment, not only are all the workers happy, but customers are no doubt receiving an even better experience than when the original poster was here spreading their venom. Before you try to bring down a good company, make sure your own hands are clean. Sleep well tonight "Freedom of Speech".

Good for all you people not on drugs..Hooray..nobody cares..I HAVE SEEN PEOPLE SELL WEED SITING RIGHT NEXT TO ME..And I am hardly a disgruntled employee right now..I was pissed when I worked there with all of the fraud that goes on ..Why didnt I find another job you ask? I was looking for one when I was fired. And just to let you know I'm completley happy with a great life sitting at home now collecting my unemployment (more than I was getting paid while working mind you).And how
did I get unemployment? Because even the government could not find any reason why I was fired.If I had done something wrong, I would have been denied.. I can write reports all day about Grand Crowne if I want to..Ever heard of "Freedom of Speech".

And as for talking about personal lives? Dena didnt care about my personal life or how loosing my job was going to affect me, so why in my right mind would I care about what happens to her or anyone for that matter? I know what Karma is,seen it work in my favor many times..And that's what happens to those who really did wrong. All you other people,just keep working at Grand Crowne while I sit here drinking my Margaritas on a Wed. afternoon. And nothing that anyone says can change my mind or the countless other people who have been screwed in one way or another by this stupid company. Whatcha got to say to that?

It is really sad when someone has to come on here because they are unhappy with themselves and badmouth others!!


I have been employed at Grand Crowne for over a year.  I come to work everyday, do my job and have no problems!  I do not do drugs, I am a female and have never had any problems with sexual harassment.  Yes, we do have fun and joke around.  All joking and fun in a tasteful manner.  Oh, and by the way I don't have a criminal record!

Grand Crowne has no control what their employees do outside of work.  I have contact with both Shelly and Doug on a daily basis.  They are both always very professional and fair to all employees.  They would do anything in their power to help anyone!  I have NEVER witnessed anything inappropriate out of either one of them.  What they chose to do in their own time is no one's business. 

I am sorry to say but who ever posted the original report will prob. have problems where ever they go.  You bad mouth others and maliciously lie about some one, you will not be able to keep a job anywhere.  It's time to grow up!!  If it was such a terrible place to work, why did you keep working there?  Why wouldn't you quit?  Hmmmm......  sounds like your just mad you got fired.

I can tell from the post that whomever wrote this was either denied a management position or was terminated because they were not professional. I mean with all the comments about team leaders and supervisors its quite obvious. You say that if anyone were a hard working honest employee that they would not like this company. You also stated that it was not the place for those without a record. However you failed to mention the employees that have worked at this company for years and have no criminal record. These employees are on time and dedicated to their job. Management is not responsible for actions of employees that occur outside of work. This is called discrimination. Management can only take action once the issue affects the work place. So youre rant about people who have went to jail being able to come back to work is absurd. The company cant fire an employee because of that or investigate why that person even went to jail. You asked how this company is still a business... Business stay open because the consumer wants the product or service that is offered. Don't believe me? Check out the owner and guest testimonies on the gcr website. Every business experiences positive and negative feedback. If gcr were lying to their customers as you have stated then why do they receive so many referrals from HAPPY customers? You said yourself that if someone were to state what was REALLY going on that they would end up out of a job like you. If you were so unhappy with Grand Crowne and the managment and inappropriate practices you speak of why would you have stayed there and not resigned on your own? Sounds to me like this is a disgruntled employee who did not get the position in which they desired and decided to become bitter about it. If your capable of writing such horrible things on a website about the place when you dont even work there anymore, I can only imagine what gossip you were spreading while still employed there. Good job grand crowne for getting these type of negative people out of there! Thank you for not letting people like this poison such a positive place. You guys are a great company with many loyal employees and customers alike.

ok, enough is enough.....making up stuff about the company or its management is bad enough but to bring people's personal life, whether it is true or not, is ridiculous, not to mention, childish.  And people wonder why, they are an ex-employee.  I have been here almost a year, come to work evey day, do not use drugs and haven't been approached to either partake in drugs or flings.  I believe these people who keep writing these things, just do not have lives or are unhappy, or upset because they are ex-employees.

i totally believe your story i have never had the pleasure to work at ozark and now i never want too . i worked at the springfield office and that was enough for me the sexual harrassment in that place, the passing of pills and drugs the loud cussing by workers and management ,and supervisors like chad ,larry, and doug trying to sleep with every young girl in the place but with shelly carrying on her own woman fling who has time to worry about what everybody else is doing lets look at the evidence ..he worked there shellys own brother sean is in prison for raping his own children in texas  ,as far as putting in the hours your right, but only for management i never seen shelly and patrica miss so much work and get away with it. i know nobody in the company could have that much pto time these people do not understand what senority means in a company and how to use it hiring applicants is a joke whoever walks in gets a job .no drug test required. if u did that, there would be very few working there all perverts and junkies come aboard.this is the kind of people shelly obrien and grand crowne wants,as far as the other rebuttles i seen on shelly and doug one said that she or he has never seen such a profesional place and makes it the top call center  come on you are definitly on drugs or if your female your sleeping with shelly . in all honesty it is a joke of a call center .if law enforcement ever came in that place there would only be a handfull of people left .come on grand crowne ,wake up ,look at the turnover in that call center. shelly and her associates are a bad combination all the way around .if you don't believe these true stories ,try talking to your workers at both locations.i am sure you will find out more than you would ever want to hear.i do not want to believe that it is grand crowne themselves .i am sure they could could have a lot better management,and have the people that really appreciate and care about the company,so get rid of shelly rapists,perverts and drug dealers
