We purchased what we thought was a time share from Grand Crowne, that would allow us to use time share in Pigeon Forge with no additional cost.
Purchased Time Share form Grand Crowne Resorts on Feb,16, 2013. Rebecca Ward. Contract # 1031822 Owner ID # 938951---Karen Hughes Deeding/ Transfer Administrator. JJ Armstrong and Ernie Davis, Sales Representative and Sales Manager. $7,000. Paid $950.00 that day Processing/Down Payment. Financed a balance of 6,539.00. Refinanced with our Credit Union 12%. Paid $419.00 Maintenance Fee April 2013.
Contract was for 1 bedroom, every other year. Tried to schedule on April 30th, 2014. I tried to reserve a date for July, 2014 or November 2014, we were told we could not do this without an additional cost. I was told by Kyndal Rice I needed to contact New Owner, by email. I sent email on that day and received a response back on May 8th that received my email and the executive vice president would review. I emailed and called several times after that. We feel like we have been mislead and lied to. We were told that we should purchase in Branson, because then we could reserve in Pigeon Forge, but if we went with Pigeon Forge we couldn't reserve in Bransom. They didn't understand why we would want to purchase in Pigeon Forge and limit our self. We kept telling them we didn't want to go to Bransom, they kept pressuring us and telling us this was the best way to go. We were told that we could reserve in Pigeon Forge at one of the other time shares that Gold Crown was affiliated with. We finally agreed after they typed up an agreement that said we requested our deed be moved from Branson to Pigeon Forge upon availability in Pigeon Forge at no additional charge.
We didn't receive a response from Gold Crown until September 13, 2014. It was a letter from the Vice President, Owner Services, Sherry Carpenter, saying the company would like to have us attend a presentation to discuss downgrading to a smaller package. More money, I am sure....
This whole mess has put us under a lot of stress. We believe they took advantage of us as senior citizens.
Grand Crowne Resorts has put us through a terrible ordeal. We don't want to be associated with them in anyway after the way they have lied and deceived us.
My husband has had 3 major surgeries since July, we have been under a lot of stress from the surgeries and all that Grand Crowne Resorts has put us through. We would like to get this horrible mess straightened out. It has been a nightmare.We don't feel we can trust such a dishonest company. We want our money back and out of this mess.
06/29/2015 pf BBB RECEIVED CONSUMER REBUTTAL : After contacting BBB in June we received a phone call from Grand Crowne Resorts saying they had received our notarized contract and we would be receiving our check in the amount of $7,489.00 instead of the full amount owed because they had to pay $536.85 in maintenance fees owed to the Trading Places International. We were to receive our check this week. We DID NOT.....I did not check back with BBB, because I was stupid enough to believe Grand Crowne Resorts. We are making monthly payments and paying interest. This is draining us monetarily and mentally.
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Haubeil:
In response to your most recent correspondence regarding cancellation of your ownership with our company, I have enclosed an amended Mutual Release agreement for your consideration, which outlines the terms and conditions of cancellation with a revised refund amount of $7,489.00. This new amount includes the refund of the $489.00 closing costs that you paid on this contract. We are not able to refund any monies paid for maintenance fees. Your contract is delinquent $536.85 in maintenance fees owed to the Trading Places International, which we will have to pay in full before this contract can be cancelled.
Please complete return the original copy of the enclosed documents for our records and we will cancel the contract; thereby absolving you of any further financial responsibility to this mortgage. Once we receive the properly completed documents, we will mail your refund check to you in the amount listed above.
Also enclosed, please find a Special Warranty Deed for your review. To relinquish all rights to this contract, please return the original copy of the signed and notarized document as well, to be processed cancellation. Please be advised you will need to sign the second page as well as print your address and telephone number to the left on the lines provided. Also included is Taney County Missouri Document Requirements. Please be sure to review this information with your notary before signing.
06/30/2015 BBB MORE INFO RECEIVED FROM THE BUSINESS : This owner's issues is closed as unresolved, please send details as to why. We received information on 6/25 that the complaint was resolved, 4 days later it is unresolved. If the owner is excepting our offer he needs to sign the forms we sent him almost 4 months ago we will honor what we offered.
